I compiled a small list of 2yos I am looking forward to seeing in the second half of the season. Thought I'd post them up here if that's OK.

Air Traffic (16/3 b c Dansili - Emplane)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Full brother to talented but ill-fated stablemate Wingwalker, a dual 7f winner at two (including on debut); also a brother to the impressive 7f 2yo debut winner and Musidora winner Aviate, as well as a half brother to the high-class Early March, a debut winner at two over 7f who later won a Group 3 and placed at the top level as a 3yo. His trainer knows the family exceptionally well and should be able to get at least one victory out of this well bred son of Dansili this year; 7f/1m will prove to be his optimum distance.

Census (1/2 b c Cacique - Slieve)
Trainer: Richard Hannon Owner: Highclere Thoroughbred Racing (Beeswing)

He is the first foal of an unraced half sister to the very smart middle distance performer Leadership, and he is also from the first crop of Cacique. He has reportedly shaped up with any amount of promise in his work, but is also quite a backward type who is likely to need a bit of time; that said, he held an entry this Friday just gone at Newbury so it shouldn't be long before he is seen in action.

Communicator (26/1 b c Motivator - Goodie Twosues)
Trainer: Michael Bell Owner: Lady Davis

Half brother to 1m juvenile winner Funny Me (placed over 6f), out of a mare who was a debut winner over 6f at two and later won a valuable sales race over the same distance; related to smart dual purpose performers Altay and Distant Prospect. He should be able to make some sort of impact over 7f/1m this year, though he is perhaps the type who will do even better next year given his sire; reportedly goes well at home.

Corsicanrun (8/4 ch c Medicean - Castara Beach)
Trainer: Richard Fahey Owner: Mrs H Steel

Half brother to the smart but fragile Steinbeck (2yo debut winner) and the lightly raced Varenka (Listed place in Italy at two in a three race career), out of a maiden who is related to the high-class 6-7f performer Hill Hopper, dam of the top-class 6-8f performer Nannina, and also the smart but ill-fated Queen Scarlet, a debut winner over 6f as a 2yo (fourth in a Listed Race on her only other start). He has apparently shown promise in his work at home and obviously has plenty to recommend him on pedigree; hopefully he'll soon at one of the top tracks in a 7f maiden.

Deny (22/4 ch c Mr Greeley - Sulk)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute Owner: Highclere Thoroughbred Racing (Matilda)

He is out of a top-class racemare who won the Prix Marcel Boussac (Group 1, 1m) as a juvenile, later placing in Group 1's such as the Yorkshire Oaks and Nassau Stakes. Her broodmare career has been notable more for the fact that all her progeny to sell so far have all fetched well into six figures as yearlings, including Ibn Battuta, a $900,000 purchase who is a three time 7f winner in the UAE including at Listed level (Group 2 placed); however, she sadly died whilst being operated on to treat colic last summer. This colt fetched 150,000gns at auction and looks the type to make a smart backend 2yo over 7f/1m, his sire helping to inject some speed into his pedigree.

End Or Beginning (1/4 b c Sadler's Wells - Smart 'n Noble)
Trainer: Paul Cole Owner: Mrs Fitri Hay

Not the most obvious of 2yo types on pedigree but is out of a mare who was a very useful juvenile and has produced mostly middle distance sorts, albeit most have won as 2yos, namely Chesham Stakes winner Celtic Silence (6f winner at two) and Jockey Club Cup and John Porter winner Royal And Regal (1m winner at two). He cost 330,000gns and is highly unlikely to be seen until at the very least the 7f maidens start, though most probably will not be sighted until the 1m maidens begin, but could well be up to winning his maiden over the distance this year before progressing into a nice middle distance sort next year.

Maraheb (1/2 b c Redoute's Choice - Hureya)
Trainer: John Dunlop  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Half brother to the useful 7f/1m winner (including on debut as a 2yo) Aqmaar and 1m 1f 3yo winenr Estiqaar, out of a 1m 3yo winner who was a half sister to the yard's smart 7-10f winner Muqbil and the useful 6f-1m winner Mostaqeleh (family of Bahri and Bahhare. This colt is from a smart family, one that trainer John Dunlop knows very well; should be suited by 7f/1m this season and is by the same sire as the owner's classy juvenile Elzaam; holds an entry at Ascot this Friday.

Naqash (18/4 b c Medicean - Varenka)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

He is a half brother to connections' useful dual 7f winner Meezaan, out of a 7f Listed winner who is a half sister to the high-class juvenile Steinbeck; also related to the very smart Hill Hopper, dam of the yard's top-class 8-10f performer Nannina and the useful but ill-fated 6f 2yo debut winner Queen Scarlet. This colt cost €240,000 as a yearling and should make up into a 2yo over 7f this season, just like his brother did last autumn; trainer knows the family well.

Protractor (7/2 ch c Galileo - Rebelline)
Trainer: Barry Hills  Owner: Raymond Mould

Half brother to the very smart Recharge, a 7f 2yo debut winner who was later a winner at Group 3/Listed level over a mile, as well as being Group 1 placed over 10f, and 1m 3yo winner Regalline. His dam was a winner over 10f at Group 1 level but also won a Group 3 over 7f, and she was a half sister to the high-class Quws, a winner at Group 2/3 level who won over a variety of distances ranging between 5-11f. This colt is sure to make some kind of impact this season for his top yard, though his sire does inject more stamina than is the case with his Cape Cross half brother Recharge; sure to start off at one of the top tracks in a 7f/1m maiden.

World Domination (25/3 b c Empire Maker - Reams Of Verse)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Half brother to Ithaca, a debut winner over 6f at two who later placed at Listed level over 7f/1m at 2-3 (later dam of the high-class 7f/1m performer Zacinto), 6f 2yo debut winner Western Verse and the very smart 10-11f winner Many Volumes, out of a top-class performer who won the Fillies' Mile as a 2yo and then the Oaks the following year and is herself a half sister to the top-class 8-10f performer Elmaamul. This colt hails from another hugely successful family that his trainer knows all too well having trained most of the dam's successful progeny, as well as most of her relatives; this colt should make it out on the track this year; it's notable that many of these colt's siblings have either won or placed on debut, suggesting this regally-bred sort should be watched closely on debut. Has reportedly shown plenty of promise at home.

Another filly of interest entered at Bath on Thursday.

Yashila- The renowned trainer/owner combination of Hannon/Wood. Entered in all the relevant sales races. Is a half sister to the dual two year old winner Triple Two and the 100+ rated Blackat Blackitten. She is a full sister to Ashram, dual two year old winner including the Somerville Gp3.

Whilst writing does anybody have any news of Teo's Sister, Teofilo's sister. She has a Molyglare entry but nothing else I can see .

From Hannon's website. Pausanias could be interesting and runs in a maiden at Goodwood next week.

All the big names were pulled out, including Canford Cliffs, who runs in Wednesday's Sussex Stakes, Dick Turpin, who could join him, and Paco Boy, who waits for Deauville, but the magnet which seemed to draw many of the hacks was an unraced Kyllachy youngster called Pausanias, who is part-owned by Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and who is expected to make his debut at Goodwood.

Former jump jockey Brian Reilly rode Pausanias in his spin in between Casual Glimpse and Zebedee, and considering that he more than held his own against two classy youngsters, who are pencilled in for Group races at Goodwood next week, it was a very encouraging piece of work.

Hannon said:"Alex originally asked for the name Avatar after the film, but he got the knock-back from Weatherbys, so him and his partner, Satiricos, came up with Pausanias. He is a lovely colt who has really started to thrive this past month, and, though I was thinking of launching him at Ascot this week, Alex can't make it down and asked me if we could hang on until Goodwood on Tuesday.

Air Traffic (16/3 b c Dansili - Emplane)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Full brother to talented but ill-fated stablemate Wingwalker, a dual 7f winner at two (including on debut); also a brother to 1m 2yo debut winner and Musidora winner Aviate, as well as a half brother to the high-class Early March, a debut winner at two over 7f who later won a Group 3 and placed at the top level as a 3yo. Almagest (2/4 br c Galileo - Arabesque)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Half brother to the yard's high-class sprinting 2yo Showcasing, the high-class 6/7f performer Camacho and the useful sprinter Bouvardia, out of a mare who was herself a smart performer over sprint distances. This colt's pedigree is a real mixture of speed and stamina, and it would be no surprise to see him need at least 7f this year; should be able to make his mark this term over that distance, and almost certain to be introduced at one of the top tracks in the coming weeks.

All Time (31/1 br f Dansili - Clepsydra)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Sister to the yard's high-class 8-10f performer Passage Of Time and very smart middle distance performer Father Time, and a half sister to the smart high-class triple 1m scorer Timepiece and 10f 3yo winner Sandglass, out of a middle distance winning half sister to Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Double Crossed (later dam of the top-class Twice Over). This beautifully-bred filly is from a family very well known to her veteran trainer, who reportedly holds this filly in very high regard; no surprise to see her make some kind of impact over a mile this season.

He has reportedly shaped up with any amount of promise in his work but is also said to be quite a backward type who is likely to need a bit of time; however, has held an entry already this summer so should be seen out any day now over 7f/1m.

He has apparently shown promise in his work at home and obviously has plenty to recommend him on pedigree; hopefully he'll soon at one of the top tracks in a 7f maiden.

This colt fetched 150,000gns at auction and looks the type to make a smart backend 2yo over 7f/1m, his sire helping to inject some speed into his pedigree. Has been widely reported in the media by his owner's racing manager that he is a decent, so unlikely to represent much in the way of value when he makes his intended debut next month.

Durante Alighieri (5/3 b c Galileo - Puce)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: H E Sheikh Sultan Bin Al Khalifya Al Nahyan

Closely related to the smart middle distance performers Lion Sands and Pukka, and a half brother to the smart middle distance performer Pongee, out of a smart middle distance performer from the family of Oaks winner Alexandrova. This smartly-bred colt fetched the princely sum of 475,000gns as a yearling and is bred to be very smart over middle distances next season, but he has been showing enough in his work to suggest he may be able to make a telling impact when he unleashed onto the course this year.

Enjoy Today (14/3 b c Kingmambo - Queen's Logic)
Trainer: Brian Meehan Owner: Jaber Abdullah

Immediately takes the eye on pedigree being a half brother to the yard's high-class 2yo Lady Of The Desert, a 5f winner on debut who went on to win the Princess Margaret and also the Lowther before running well in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes when third. He is out of a top-class racemare who was unbeaten in a five race career, winning the Queen Mary, Lowther and Cheveley Park Stakes at two before injury brought a premature end to her career on the eve of the 1000 Guineas, that after winning the Fred Darling Stakes. This colt has all the right attributes to make some sort of impact at two, his yard adept at getting the best out of their youngsters, and it also bodes well that two of this colt's siblings made winning debuts as 2yos; should be suited by 7f/1m this year.

Frankel (11/2 b c Galileo - Kind)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Very closely related to the yard's Lingfield Derby Trial winner Bullet Train (by Sadler's Wells), also a 1m 2yo winner on debut, out of a very smart sprint performer who was a half sister to the top-class middle distance performer Powerscourt, and was out of Lancashire Oaks winner Rainbow Lake. This colt's pedigree is a real mixture of speed and stamina, but the fact he holds an entry in the Royal Lodge indicates he capable of making some kind of impact this term, perhaps even over 7f to begin with though a mile will undoubtedly prove his optimum distance this year.

Guessing (27/2 b f Kingmambo - Imagine)
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien  Owner: Mrs John Magnier/Mrs David Nagle

She is out of a half sister to the top-class Generous who was herself a top-class performer on the track, winning the Irish 1000 Guineas and the English Oaks (Group 3 winner as a 2yo), and she has quickly made a name for herself at stud, her first foal the top-class but ill-fated Horatio Nelson, a 7f winner on debut who went on to win the Group 1 Prix Jean Luc Lagardere (1m). Her other three foals to date have all been high-class at least, with Kitty Matcham winner of the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at two, Red Rock Canyon running some excellent races in defeat as a pacemaker in Group 1 company, and Viscount Nelson a high-class juvenile last year, placing at Group 2 level, and not far away in Classic company this season. This filly quite clearly catches the eye on breeding, and it would be something of a disappointment if she couldn't make up into a half decent performer this backend; 7f/1m will prove ideal for now.

Lordofthehouse (1/5 b c Danehill Dancer - Bordighera)
Trainer: William Haggas  Owner: Lael Stables

He is very closely related to the top-class miler George Washington (by Danehill), also fully effective over 6/7f as a 2yo, and he is a half brother to the extremely talented but equally quirky Grandera, a multiple winner over 7-11f, his most notable victories coming in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and the Irish Champion Stakes. This colt's pedigree suggests he should be able to make some kind of impact over 7f/1m this term, though he is a late foal and may not see too much action this year; however, he worth keeping an eye out for if he does make it out on to the track in 2010.

Mohedian Lady (10/4 b f Hurricane Run - Amathia)
Trainer: Michael Bell  Owner: Olivia Hoare

This filly is a half sister to the smart 7-10f winner Distant Memories, placed over 10f at Listed level (also a 7f 2yo winner), out of a smart 9-10f winner in France who was a half sister to UAE 2000 Guineas winner Stagelight (7f 2yo debut winner in Ireland), high-class 8-12f performer Ivan Luis and 1000 Guineas third Hathrah, a 7f 2yo winner who was a Listed winner over 1m at three. This smartly-bred filly fetched 240,000gns at auction and should be up to winning at least a maiden this season, although her pedigree very much suggests middle distances will suit next year; reportedly goes well at home.

Nahrain (29/1 ch f Selkirk - Bahr)
Trainer: Michael Jarvis  Owner: Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum

Half sister to the smart 7f/1m performer Baharah, 1m 2yo winner In Dubai, 7f 2yo winner Raaeidd, 7f 3yo winner Sarrsar and dual 7f winner Naaddey, out of a high-class middle distance performer who was placed in the Oaks (also very smart as a juvenile over 7f). This filly is a smartly-bred filly who is related to a couple of decent types who have been trained to good effect by her handler; should be suited by a mile this year.

Nathaniel (24/4 b c Galileo - Magnificient Style)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: Lady Rothschild

He is very closely related to the yard'stop-class 2yo Playful Act, winner of the May Hill and Fillies' Mile as a juvenile, later placing at the top level over middle distances; also related to high-class middle distance/staying performers Echoes In Eternity (dam of the smart UK/UAE performer Whispering Gallery) and Derby fourth Percussionist, later a useful dual purpose performer. His leading handler knows this family better than anyone, and though this colt does have a middle distance pedigree, most of his siblings have made it on to the track as a juveniles, most enjoying success; an entry in the Royal Lodge suggests he should be up to making his mark at some stage this year.

Pure Science (7/2 ch c Galileo - Rebelline)

Tanjung Agas (18/3 b c Montjeu - Najmati)
Trainer: Michael Jarvis  Owner: H R H Sultan Ahmed Shah

This colt is the second foal of a mare who failed to win in her light career but is a very well connected sort, related to high-class performers Bint Allayl, Kheleyf and Laa Rayb. He cost 250,000gns at the sales and is a well bred individual who looks the type who will appear towards the second half of the season in a 7f/1m maiden at a top track; with a top yard and his pedigree alone suggests he could be pretty smart in time, though should able to make some sort of impact at two this year. Holds Champagne/Royal Lodge entries, and no surprise to see him kick off in a 7f maiden at Newmarket (July) towards the backend on August, a race connections often target with a nice sort.

World Domination (25/3 b c Empire Maker - Reams Of Verse)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Half brother to Ithaca, a debut winner over 7f at two who later placed at Listed level over 7f/1m at 2-3 (later dam of the high-class 7f/1m performer Zacinto), 6f 2yo debut winner Western Verse and the very smart 10-11f winner Many Volumes, out of a top-class performer who won the Fillies' Mile as a 2yo and then the Oaks the following year and is herself a half sister to the top-class 8-10f performer Elmaamul.

Cream as you say Almagestis a funny one. It would be interesting to know the thinking behind the breeding decision. I will try and number up his pedigree in the next few days. I see they went back to Oasis Dream in 2008( sire of Showcasing).
Report Cream Of The Crop July 27, 2010 9:22 AM BST
re Almagest, it was a slightly odd decision considering his close relation Sligo (by Sadler's Wells, out of the same mare) wasn't anything out of the ordinary for Coolmore a couple of seasons ago.

It is a strange sort of family with regards to distance - the dam (Arabesque) and her granddam (Prophecy) both fairly speedy (Prophecy was tried over 10f but didn't stay), but then the third dam is the useful middle distance performer Andaleeb, so perhaps they are looking to bring in more emphasis on stamina once again, as was/is the case with Bullet Train and Frankel of Henry Cecil's, sons of Kind (by Sadler's Wells and Galileo respectively), a sprinter who was bred for middle distances in the main (by a speed influence in Danehill, the distaff side of her pedigree having plenty of stamina in it).

Out of interest, Kind has a yearling colt by Galileo, but her foal is a colt by Oasis Dream so should be pretty quick if taking after his mother and not the vast majority of his family.

Shabyt -  Sadler´s Wells (USA) — Shastye (IRE)

She's a first foal of Shastye, trained by John Gosden, she was listed place and a close 5th behind playful Act in the Lancashire Oaks. What a maiden the 6.35 at Newmarket promises to be on Friday.

Frankel and Genius Beast two to run who have been mentioned on here already, but Elrasheed (half brother to Akmal), Man Of God (brilliant middle distance pedigree, Alborada, Quarter Moon etc.) and Nathaniel (brother to Playful Act) also very much take the eye on pedigree.

Could we see another Motivator?

Both maidens of the 7f maiden at Newbury on Friday also look fascinating, with Yair Hill, a brother to Jedburgh who caught the eye on debut behind Native Khan at HQ on debut, and Buckland, a major eyecatcher when third behind Murbeh over 6f at the same track on debut, are the two who look the pick on form. Then there is Dressing Room (a half brother to Lord Shanakill), Saamidd (from the family of Barathea and Gossamer), Muwasama (related to Lahan) and Pivot Bridge (a half brother to Speciosa, related to Pride) who all make their debut. General Synod (half brother to 2yo debut winner Instalment and a couple of 3yo winners over 8-10f) and Treasury Devil (out of the top-class miler Crystal Music) take the eye in the second division, as do Colebrooke (related to several winners, including useful 8-10f winner Hazeymm) and Fleeting Tiger (half brother to the top-class Rebelline).

All three maidens look sure to be informative, but the 2yo I am most looking forward to seeing is Frankel in that 1m maiden at HQ!

Re: earlier post.  Exemplify is a half-sister to Special Duty (by Dansili out of Quest To Peak), not a full sister.  She won the Prix des Marettes at Deauville on Tuesday and may be aimed at the Prix Marcel Boussac.

Another one I'm looking forward to seeing on the track is Claiomh Solais (by Galileo out of Scribonia), a full sister to Gile Na Greine and Cuis Ghaire.  She's in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, but no other entries at present.  I wouldn't put it past Jim Bolger to run this one first time out in the Moyglare!

Cream,

As you say interesting races, but certainly not betting races!

I might have considered Frankel until I noticed Henry Cecil's comments on S/Life.

"I was thinking of running a very nice Galileo half-brother to Bullet Train called Frankel in the juvenile maiden. I may go to Newmarket though, he's slightly highly strung and a bit of a baby and crossing the Knavesmire can be an ordeal. It may be more sensible to start off just down the road."
Report Cream Of The Crop August 13, 2010 10:38 AM BST
Yes, those comments didn't exactly fill me with confidence either, but he has always worked well and has a very smart pedigree, so it would still be something of a disappointment if he wasn't up to the task today, for all it's clearly a very warm maiden on paper.

Will also be keeping a close eye on Treasury Devil in the 2.00 at Newbury. Bred in the purple and Gosden felt him good enough to give him an entry at the five day stage for the Washington Singer Stakes tomorrow; yard in top form at present, and they introduced a couple of winning newcomers last Saturday.

Raced still maidens:

ARC LIGHT – Okay debut run, when beaten favourite behind Biondetti. Holds Maiden entries at Kempton, Sandown and York this week. At a guess Nurseries beckon?

ABTASAAMAH – Beaten a head on debut, on the line, when favourite. Effectively a winner without a penalty if going for another typical maiden. No entries apart from the Totepool.

YASHILA – Looked fairly average on Goodwood debut over 6f, but can forgive any horse a bad debut run, especially at Goodwood. Might need step up in trip. Entered in all the Auction races, no other Maiden entries.

GENIUS BEAST- Staying on third behind Frankel. Should win a Maiden, but looks to have the makings of a nice three year old.

NATHANIEL -  Second to Frankel on debut, but probably least impressive of the first three. Royal Lodge and Racing Post entries.

Raced winners:

SHROPSHIRE – Impressive debut win visually, yet to see a winner from the race. Still holds Gimcrack entry on 18 August.

BIONDETTI- Debut win  looked fair for the course but nothing exceptional. Entered in the Acomb on Tuesday, and Listed race at Salisbury on 20 August.

PAUSANIAS -  Cosy debut victory at Goodwood. Fifth placed horse subsequently second when favourite in Salisbury maiden. Entered in the Weatherby’s @ Doncaster.

Midday's half brother is entered for a 7f maiden race at Sandown on Friday

Midsummer Sun is by Monsun and I think I read somewhere he was Frankel's galloping companion
Report Cream Of The Crop August 16, 2010 12:42 AM BST
PFTrader, he is indeed Frankel's regular galloping companion, and he shows plenty of promise himself. However, I must confess I am surprised to see him kicking off over 7f given he is by Monsun and a half brother to Midday, a daughter of Oasis Dream (a much bigger speed influence than Monsun) whose first victory over 1m as a 2yo. He is sure to be quite a prohibitive price given his pedigree, connections and the fact it seems to be a well known fact he works with Frankel, and I would have been more keen to take the risk if he'd have started off over a mile.

John Gosden runs what is apparently a very nice half brother to Rainbow View called Utley, and he would have to be considered very seriously given the run of the yard's 2yos at present. It always an informative maiden which has been contested by some top-class performers in the past, most notably Oasis Dream and North Light (both runners up).
Report Cream Of The Crop August 26, 2010 7:07 PM BST
The 3.30 maiden at Newmarket tomorrow looks a cracker. I am personally quite sweet on Utley for the in-form John Gosden, but both Deny and Tanjung Agas also make a great deal of paper appeal. Chilled and Musical Flight a couple of other eyecatchers on pedigree in what could be a potentially hot maiden.
Report jamesp August 26, 2010 8:04 PM BST
The two divisions of the fillies' maiden at Newmarket (1.50 and 2.20) also look very interesting.  In the opener, Stoute's newcomer Abergeldie is by Street Cry out of a half-sister to Barathea and Gossamer; the Jarvis and Dunlop newcomers would have been of considerable interest but have been declared non-runners because of the soft ground.  In the second division, Stoute's newcomer Havant is a Halling half-sister to top-class Leadership, and Meehan's newcomer Vita Lika is closely related to Guineas runner-up Vital Equine.
Report Cream Of The Crop August 26, 2010 8:23 PM BST
There are some lovely pedigree knocking about, aren't there, and it's such a shame that Nahrain was unable to take up her engagement in the opener. Just out of interest, do you think Abergeldie will go on the ground? Obviously being a Street Cry you'd tend to think not, but Saamidd, himself a son of Street Cry from a Gerald Leigh bloodline, fairly flew in on rain softened ground at Newbury a fortnight ago. Abergeldie, as you say, is from the family of Barathea and Gossamer, and she is also related to a lightly raced filly called Zibilene, dam of one Aryaamm who in turn is the dam of Saamidd. Interesting.

I actually quite like the look of Havant in the second division, and she should be able to act in those testing conditions being a daughter of Halling, although half brother Leadership (by Selkirk) seemed to need top of the ground, albeit another sibling, admittedly hurdler Rougham, acted very well with plenty of cut in the ground. I think she looks interesting in what is a weakened race with the absence of Tameen.

It looks as though Henry Cecil has got a vintage crop of 2yos from Juddmonte this season. He's already had Frankel and Picture Editor make winning debuts, whilst Waferia came out and built on earlier promise to win a 1m maiden at Kempton.

He looks to have some really nicely bred sorts still to emerge for Khalid Abdulla:

Air Traffic (16/3 b c Dansili - Emplane) - full brother to the smart but ill-fated Wingwalker, Aviate, 1m 2yo debut winner who won the Musidora at three, and the very smart French performer Early March

All Time (31/1 b f Dansili - Clepsydra) - full sister to the top-class 2yo Passage Of Time; half sister to the high-class Father Time and the very useful Timepiece

Cursory (24/2 b f Hurricane Run - Half Glance) - closely related to dual middle distance winner Brief Look (by Sadler's Wells), out of a May Hill winner from the family of 1000 Guineas winner Wince (dam of the top-class Quiff)

Imperial Unity (14/5 b c Empire Maker - Dokki) - half brother to the top-class US pair of Aptitude and Sleep Easy, from the family of another top-class US duo in Coastal and Slew O'Gold

Midsummer Sun (7/3 b c Monsun - Midsummer) - half brother to the top-class 10-12f performer Midday

Monopolize (4/3 b c Oasis Dream - Modesta) - half brother to the useful 7f 2yo winner Intense, out of a lightly raced but smart middle distance/staying performer who was a half sister to Elmaamul and Reams Of Verse (family of Zafonic)

Sacred Shield (3/5 b f Beat Hollow - Quandary) - half sister to the smart middle distance performer Double Crossed (dam of the top-class Twice Over) and to the dam of smart trio Father Time, Passage Of Time and Timepiece

Searing Heat (19/3 b/br c Empire Maker - Valentine Band) - half brother to the very smart Await The Dawn and smart French performer Putney Bridge; from the same family as yesterday's debut winner Picture Editor

Word Power (2/2 b f Oasis Dream - Novellara) - first foal of a lightly raced 14f Listed winner who's a half sister to the top-class pair of Elmaamul and Reams Of Verse, the high-class High Walden and Manifest, and to the dam of Midday

World Domination (25/3 b c Empire Maker - Reams Of Verse) - half brother to the smart 7f 2yo Ithaca (dam of Zacinto), 6f 2yo debut winner Western Verse and the high-class Many Volumes, out of a top-class 2yo who placed in the Oaks at three

Mentioned tonight, could be a bit special? Probably given plenty of time by patient owner-breeders/trainer while Frankel cuts loose. Looks a middle-distance prospect to me on breeding, anybody know how he's going at home?

Yes, Sintonian we have been waiting for LOTHsince July. The ground shouldn't be an issue if DD is the influence, at this time of year likely to be an educational run.

Looks a good maiden. Michael Bells runner, Maharana, is interesting too. His win first time out aswell.

Seville of Aidan O'Breins - 2nd at Gowran Park last weekend looks a good middle distance prospect to me. Wouldn't be surprised to see him going to France for the Gp1 Criterium de Saint Cloud over 1m2f

I see Seville bolted up last week and is now favourite on here for the Racing Post Trophy.

I thought I would update again as the season nears a close, and following Biondetti's Gran Criterium win on Saturday.

AZORES – No entries at present.

COMMUNICATOR - No two year old entries, Derby entry.

DURANTE ALGHIERI – No data found.

END OR BEGINNING - No entries at present.

ENJOY TODAY – No entries at present.

FASTEST MAGICIAN – No entries did hold a Gimcrack entry. Could have met a setback, or taking longer to come to hand.

GULF OF NAPLES – Still not holding any entries.

GUESSING – Entered No two year old entries at present.

PURE SCIENCE - No current two year old entries.

Raced still maidens:

ARC LIGHT – Okay debut run, but subsequently very disappointing. Nurseries ahead, no entries at present.

CENSUS – Unfortunately, did not look anything special on debut. Second at Salisbury next run an improvement, maiden entries for Nottingham (14) and Newmarket (15) this week.

DENY - Did not seem to like the “soft” ground on debut, but showed signs of promise on second run in a decent looking Newbury maiden. Looks likely to make a well handicapped three year old.

DIOGENES - Hopefully better than showed yesterday, clearly not fancied starting at 10/1.

DUMBARTON – Looked a typical “educational” run for the Stoute yard on debut, sure to improve for it next time.

LORDOFTHEHOUSE - Difficult to assess debut that appears disappointing at first sight. Holds Maiden entries for Nottingham (14) and Newmarket (15) this week.

MOHEDIAN LADY – Finished a good second in Newmarket maiden on debut @ 10/1. Ran okay in the Fillies Millions race, no further entries at present, nurseries look the likely option if running again this year.

NATHANIEL - Second to Frankel on debut, subsequently second to another Cecil horse on second run, with Genius Beast in third. Holds a Racing Post Trophy entry. Interesting to see where connections go from here.

TANJUNG AGAS - Very disappointing to date.

YASHILA – Looked average on Goodwood debut over 6f, and in subsequent run.

Raced winners:

ABTASAAMAH – Beaten a head on debut, on the line, when favourite. Second has won since and run a decent race in the Park Stakes. Won average Southwell maiden very easily on 5 Oct, no future entries.

BIONDETTI- Debut win looked fair for the course but nothing exceptional. Subsequently won a three runner Conditions race at Kempton. Won the Group 1 Gran Criterium in Italy on 9 October).

CORSICANRUN - Beaten favourite (Second) on debut, made amends second time out, looks decent without being anything special.

FACTUM – Satisfactory debut when clearly not fancied @ 14/1. Won an AW Conditions on third appearance. Difficult to know what to make of his run in Beresford. Looks a horse that will be difficult to place to advantage. Finished midfield in the Millions race, Dewhurst entry looks fanciful.

FRANKEL – Difficult to say anything that has not already been said. Looks to have too much speed for the Derby in my opinion, but could class get him through? My three generation pedigree analysis   forecasts improvement for the Derby trip!, even with the "dam" line looking to be speed. Will hopefully be the thread’s second Group 1 winner on Saturday.

GENIUS BEAST- Staying on third behind Frankel, and third on second run. Got off the mark at the third attempt. Interesting to see the “mark” he gets. Received mark of 88, which is potentially generous?

MAKEYNN - Debut run at Brighton showed promise, won a facile victory @ Wolverhampton second time out at odds of ¼! Holds two Nursery entries at Kempton (29/9) and Newmarket (30/9) off a mark of 85, which could be interesting. Came 6th of 8 in a heavy ground nursery @ Epsom, best forget the run on that ground.

PAUSANIAS - Cosy debut victory at Goodwood followed up with victory in Conditions race at Kempton. Came second in a strange Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Ascot on 9 October at 9/1. Likely to prove a difficult three year old to place.

SHROPSHIRE – Impressive debut win visually, but very disappointing in the Gimcrack. Holds an entry in the Dewhurst, will be interesting to see if he runs.

There are some noteworthy debutantes running today:
Dubai Queen (9/2 b f Kingmambo - Zomaradah) is a half-sister to Dubawi and makes her debut for Luca Cumani (Kempton 3.25)

Follow My Dream (3/3 ch f Kyllachy - Follow A Dream) is a half-sister to dual Gr.2 winner Pipedreamer and runs for John Gosden (Salisbury 2.40)

Tannasuq (13/2 b f Rahy - Wasnah) is half-sister to Bahri and Bahhare, she is trained by John Dunlop (Salisbury 2.40)

Striking Veil (22/4 b f Smart Strike - Yashmak): the dam was a smart middle distance performer (won the Ribblesdale by 9 lengths, runner-up in the Irish Oaks) and is half-sister to Warning, Deploy, Commander In Chief and Dushyantor (all from the Slightly Dangerous line); she makes her debut for Sir Michael Stoute (Salisbury 2.40).

Miss Topsy Turvy (22/3 b f Mr Greeley - Cara Fantasy) is a half-sister to Elusive Pimpernel and Palavicini and is trained by John Dunlop (Salisbury 3.15)

I thought I would do an end of term report. I think a return of 11 individual winners from 20 runners doesn’t seem bad to me.  Lets hope Biondetti can round it off with victory in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Dirt.

Raced still maidens:

ARC LIGHT – Okay debut run, but subsequently very disappointing. Handicapping as a three year old from a mark of 81, which could be lenient on the Biondetti form.

COMMUNICATOR – Fourth of eleven in average maiden at Newmarket in educational style on 29 October.

DENY - Did not seem to like the “soft” ground on debut, but showed signs of promise on second run in a decent looking Newbury maiden, no improvement on third run. He has been given a mark of 70, if he is still in training, with Michael Stoute, at three chances are he is well handicapped!

DIOGENES – Hasn’t looked anything special in two runs.

DUMBARTON – Looked a typical “educational” run for the Stoute yard on debut, sure to improve for it next year.

LORDOFTHEHOUSE – Based upon his breeding has to be described as very disappointing, this dam does seem to get them quality or poor, no in between. Three poor runs.

NATHANIEL - Second to Frankel on debut, subsequently short head second to Picture Editor on second run, with Genius Beast in third. Interesting to see where connections go from here, and what mark he gets. Could be difficult to place at three.

TANJUNG AGAS - Very disappointing in three runs.

YASHILA – Looked average on Goodwood debut over 6f, and in subsequent run, probably be sold.

Raced winners:

ABTASAAMAH – Beaten a head on debut, on the line, when favourite. Second has won since and run a decent race in the Park Stakes. Won average Southwell maiden very easily on 5 Oct, last in the Rockfel when 5/1 third favourite.

BIONDETTI- Debut win looked fair for the course but nothing exceptional. Subsequently won a three runner Conditions race at Kempton. Won the Group 1 Gran Criterium in Italy on 9 October. Runs in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Dirt.

CENSUS – Unfortunately, did not look anything special on debut. Second at Salisbury next run an improvement, won Bath maiden at odds on third start. Mark of 82 seems about right, improvement likely for step up in trip, bred to improve at three.

CORSICANRUN - Beaten favourite (Second) on debut, made amends second time out, looks decent without being anything special. Given a mark of 75, potentially lenient.

FACTUM – Satisfactory debut when clearly not fancied @ 14/1. Won an AW Conditions on third appearance. Difficult to know what to make of his run in Beresford. Looks a horse that will be difficult to place to advantage. Finished midfield in the Millions race. I don’t know where they will go from here with a mark of 97.

FRANKEL – Difficult to say anything that has not already been said. Looks to have too much speed for the Derby in my opinion, but could class get him through? Comfortable Dewhurst winner, nothing really to add except became the thread’s second Group 1 winner.

GENIUS BEAST- Staying on third behind Frankel, and third on second run. Got off the mark at the third attempt. Interesting to see the “mark”, he gets. Received mark of 88, which is potentially generous?

MAKEYNN - Debut run at Brighton showed promise, won a facile victory @ Wolverhampton second time out at odds of ¼! Came 6th of 8 in a heavy ground nursery @ Epsom, likely best forget the run on that ground. Mark now 81.

MOHEDIAN LADY – Finished a good second in Newmarket maiden on debut @ 10/1. Ran okay in the Fillies Millions race, won Yarmouth maiden on third start comfortably. Given a mark of 88, bred to be better at three.

Not been seen since.
