A week ago with the bookies, Paul Hanagan was 12/1 (around 8%) and now he is 6/4 (40%).
Ryan Moore was 1/3 (75%) yet the increased percentage of price of Hanagan has not been fully reflected by the bookies in his new price 4/6 (60%).
If the bookies were replacing the increase in Hanagans chance of 30% in his main rival for the champs, surely they should be pushing Moore out to around Evs (50%) with the remainder pushing out the price of the rags!
Come on bookies, either stop running scared of Hanagan or put out a more realistic price on Moore.
That or you were all completely off the ball last week!!

Richard Hughes is also in the mix (now in 2nd place).
After a cracking week for Paul Hanagan, and a pretty good week for Hughes, I make it: Hanagan 87 wins, R.Hughes 77, R.Moore 72 (am following this keenly as I have an early season bet on Paul Hanagan after his cracking start to the season and I topped up at the start of this week when I heard that Moore would be serving a ban - Moore was off on Mon, maybe also Tues this week?) |

Not sure if moore will hack up, hanagan is getting some very good support at the moment and seems to be targetting easier opportunites to win, where as moore will have to go where stoute says which may include overseas racing.

Bans could have a huge factor here.
Easier for Hanagan riding lesser horses in weaker races up north. Moore will be riding world class horses in big g1s where the outcome could be worth millions as a stallion. What i'm saying is...if he has to barge a couple horses out the way to force someone like Workforce home in the King George or get overly excessive with the whip he will do it. totting up procedure could be a b*tch end of the season. just saying.. |

Good points made by Gooner. Also, Hanagan seems prepared to take more rides, i.e. seems to be doing more full days (afternoon race meeting, followed by evening races) than the other two. Not sure if this is true, but it's my observation of recent weeks.

Bookies are at it all the time. Workforce was evs & 11/10 for the KG. However, after Cape Blanco won the Irish derby, they shortened Workforce to 10/11 even though Cape Blanco wasn't even in contention when he was 11/10. They basically shortened his price even though the field got stronger.

Two wins for Moore at Newmarket this afternoon, and two wins for Hanagan (so far) at Doncaster tonight. Interesting!

Worth pointing out Moore will be picking up Hannon's main rides in the next week. He's in crazy form so could be worth quite a few winners.

I'm not convinced Moore is all that bothered by the title. Like Frankie, he's only interested in quality now, not quantity.
He might not even finish second. I'd rather be on Hughesy at 20's than RLM at 6/4. |

Similar logic re; Spain v Germany (semi-Final) Torres = worst player of the wc tournament, Torres named out of starting eleven for wc semi-final against germany, Books heavily cut the price of germany, I was looking to back germany at a shorter price with torres left in the spanish starting 11 but didnt as he was dropped but books still eased spain and cut germany if you all remember. |
