Very short for July Cup when you weigh up the form.
The Ascot race was 2 races in one and must be looked at seperately.
Starspangledbanner won the race on the stand side beating: Society Rock, a Listed winner.
Kinsale King, very good AW horse.
Amico Fritz, Gr3 winner in Germany.
and Baltathaars Gift, well known.
Fleeting Spirit won the race on the far side beating:
War Artist, Gr2 winner.
Varenar, Group 1 winner.
Prime Defender, Group 2 winner
and Serious Attitude, Group 1 winner.
I know which form lines I prefer.

Kinsale King's trainer said he would be making the running this time. He let Star have his own way too much at Ascot. Also if Showcasing forces it in the first time blinkers the pace must be very hot.
Varenar and Serious Attitude will be coming from off this fast pace. Very interesting. |
