Ghimaar won the GPT off 95 last year and was raised to 104 in the immediate aftermath . He didnt justify that level on his three subsequent starts ( although running respectably raised in class on each occasion ) and ended the year in Ireland rated 98 .
He got beat off 89 in R Ascot in 2008 and got beat again off 97 at the meeting last year so maybe the local handicapper is taking a view based on those runs.
It wasnt a vintage GPT he won and he got the run of the race as Prospero suggests but I dont think DKW would have sold him if he thought he would be given a mark of 90 in this race !!
Stamina will be the issue which could make the weights issue academic
