mr_sykes you’d have every right to be interested in Age Of Aquarius as an Ascot Gold Cup contender and he’ll excel over this marathon trip.
For me Yeats was and still is the greatest racehorse of all time and he came into his own in this race, setting a record of 4 Gold Cup wins that will never be beaten. Yeats was a Sadler’s Wells colt out of a Top Ville mare and on breeding this fellow Age Of Aquarius is very similar – being a Galileo colt out of a Top Ville mare.
He’s a beautifully bred individual Age Of Aquarius and such a cool and calm fellow as well with a lovely attitude towards his racing. Look at the way he battled it out there the last day at Leop and only just lost out over a trip that’s too short for him. He’s a fine looking, strong athletic type of colt as well, just like his father and he’s versatile enough on any type of ground that he’ll get next week.
As always me and Mrs soldieroffortune will be making our way to the Royal meeting for a couple of days including Ladies’ Day – which incidentally I truly believe they should rename as Yeats Day to give full credit to the great horse!
It’ll be strange to look at a Gold Cup field without Yeats in the line up, and whilst there are plenty in with chances, for me Age Of Aquarius can take this race on the way to establishing himself as a stayer of the highest quality.

Don't ask SOF if he will go on the ground. Every horse is perfect to him, every ballydoyle horse at least.
I was about to post about the 60% bit; probably not 100% and beaten by imo a very good mare lto, will he definitely stay though and is he even good enough, doesn't have really strong form tbf.
fwiw i dont think he will stay if they go a decent clip, kasbah a very big chance however, especially if the rain keeps coming.

bestmate a highly enjoyable 2 days in Epsom as always and it was impossible to come away from the weekend feeling disappointed.
Jan Vermeer - I thought he ran a grand race and losing his two front shoes certainly did him no favours. There is plenty more to come from this fellow as the season goes on.
Midas Touch - he too ran a great race and watching him closely as I did it was clear that he wasn't totally in love with the track there. He looked a beautifully balanced colt at Leop the last day but the undulations of Epsom are unique and he struggled to handle them. He too has plenty more to offer.
At First Sight - ran a cracker under an absolute peach from Seamus, who has now ridden a horse to 2nd place in consecutive runnings of the Derby. Let's hope you can go one better next year my friend
In France it was a similar story. Cape Blanco ran a great race but things just didn't go his way after he went out a bit wide on the bend, he'll do much better next time. Hats off however to Viscount Nelson who ran another cracker just like he did in the Guineas. He's a tough and genuine fellow and it's clear that the step up in trip suited him.
What I would say bestmate is all credit to Saturday's winner who put in a performance to remember under a fine ride from his excellent jockey. I wish Ryan Moore would take up more engagements on certain horses in Ireland and England but that's another story.
Whilst Workforce marked himself out as a colt of great quality, I can't be having him as favourite for Paris. When you look back over the weekend, the performance of the two days came from Fame And Glory who put in another scintillating display and he's made up into a truly superb 4YO. For me he'll take a world of beating in the Arc.

The Harbinger race looks over rated to me and assumes Munsef ran to form first time out
by galileo out of a top ville mare = the faster the ground the better for age of aquarius.

Oh well, I'll sum AOA up in the way he should be - paceless, slow donkey who has no acceleration. He should really run in the Queen Alexandra. I'd back him in that race, but even then he might only be "staying on." Lovely horse though, well bred, goes on all types of ground, loads of class, but he's SLOW.

yeah he ran a cracker,watering the track just took it away from him imo,not sure where the drift came from,reckon he'll go one better next yr.all credit to DK Weld what a trainer,PB for the MC hard to know wouldnt want it too firm,the man is a genius either way...
