Surely this is massive value at 30.0, if it runs.

Any thoughts?

What makes you think he'll overturn form with Manifest?

I'm already on Happy

Hated the slow run race last time Am, they covered the last 3 furlongs quicker than any other race that day which doesn't suit him. With the likes of Akmal, Holberg and Kitewood scrapping for the lead should get a decent pace and Cumani won't have primed him for York, the target has always been Ascot. Stays 2 miles, so should be OK for the GC trip, will Manifest, who also only runs well when there's no pace on.

Cheers Ben, didnt see that last race but was just going straight off the result.  Dont really fancy Manifest here at all to be honest, Kasbah Bliss would probably be my pick at this stage.  At 33s there appears to be value in Purple Moon.

i agree with you that manifest doesnt represent great value at the mo

however he has beaten purple moon twice now and there was plenty of pace on when thye finished behind harbinger (which looks pretty strong form to me)

also why shouldnt manifest be improving at the same rate as purple moon, HRAC targets races just the same as LC. In fact given the profiles of both horses you could reckon on a lot more improvement from manifest?

i dont think there is any value in backing purple moon

Sorry but you can't say Purple Moon ran anywhere near form at Newbury, this is a horse who has been placed in numerous Group 1s

ASK all the way for me here!
Love this horse, great record fto, won first try at 2miles in the G1 Prix Royal-Oak, He's as well bred to get the trip as any of them.
He is by far and away the best horse in this field, and any softish ground will not concern him.

Bet of the week!!!!! CoolDevil

Ask cut for Gold Cup as race confirmed the target

BY JON LEES AND TOM KERR 5:56PM 8 JUN 2010

ASK was on Tuesday cut to 7-1 (from 10) by Ladbrokes for the Gold Cup after being confirmed for the showpiece race of Royal Ascot.

The Patrick Fahey-owned seven-year-old, whose participation in the Gold Cup was uncertain a few weeks ago, has not run since winning the Prix Royal-Oak last October but is on target to run in the 2m4f race next Thursday, provided he works satisfactorily at the weekend.

He finished third in last year’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Ascot and, in the same campaign, won the Coronation Cup.

Victor Chandler also cut him to 8-1 (from 10), although the Sir Michael Stoute-trained runner has recently been deposed as favourite for the race by Yorkshire Cup winner Manifest.

Fahey confirmed Ask’s likely involvement, saying: “I think he probably will run. It looks likely. You never know with him until the eleventh hour. He will be working at the weekend and if everything goes okay he will be heading in that direction.”

I am keen on Kasbah Bliss and Akmal

I was all over Manifest at York and Akmal at 12's the night before when he skinned them at Sandown.

It's between these 3.

Kasbah - has been targeted at the race, which IS a positive, nagging worry about when Big Bucks found him out on tacky ground up the hill at Chelts though - can he re-produce that turn of foot at 2m4f ? I don't know ... Doumen planning a coup though and knows how to get one ready, impressive comeback run not so sure now that Kite Wood beat him though, can you forgive that ? Wants good ground or quicker.

Manifest - Trainer knows how to win this and is a adamant he will stay. Always been very highly thought of and was tipped up by Lord Teddy G a while ago (year or more) on ATR when Chapman asked him for one to really follow. Could be they have had this down as the plan for a while and literally took them apart at York when I was on which made my day. He looks all class. What do we make of the York performance ? Will he stay 2m4f ? What are the ground requirements ??

Akmal - Got on at 12's the night before and thank you Hills and J Dunlop. He came back. In the mould of Yeats he's a big bull that takes some getting ready but the way he pulled out more up the hill when challenged at Sandown suggests he has plenty in the locker. Will they try to let him bowl along at Ascot and will this leave him as a sitting duck ? I would like to know if he is ground dependent. Beat a below par Manifest last term for what it's worth. I think at 16's he is value in this race. Wrote him off as not having the 'class' of some of these but I have since turned that on it's head and now see him as one of the top 3 contenders here.

Not sure about the rest. Boys in Blue sure to throw a couple at this. Cannot have Ask as is ground dependent and not sure on trip first time out. Purple Moon an unlucky story for me and can't have him either.

You ?

No one seems to give Darley Sun much chance. Obviously needs to improve but quite likely to given lightly raced profile and will relish the trip unlike some of the more fancied rivals. Surprised Frankie has opted for Kite Wood so Darley Sun could go off bigger than current best priced 12/1. I know he was a handicap blot for the cesarewitch but he sluiced in and was going further clear at the line. Can see him running a massive race.
