Grand Steeplechase de Paris - 30th May

Done this twice (2005 and 2009) and off for 3rd time this weekend.
Really good meeting, easy day trip by Eurostar and as it's a　Ｂａｎｋ　Ｈｏｌｉｄａｙ　ｉｎ　ＵＫ　ｂｕｔ　ｎ...

Willie runs Deutschland (Paul Townend) and Thousand Stars (Katie Walsh) in the Prix La Barka.  Questarabad a defector so an easier task - last years winner Portal's Toy been off the boil since a listed Chase win at Enghien towards the end of last year - regular jockey Nathalie Dessoutter out injured too which won't help but should be a decent price.

Plenty of dead wood in the Grand Steeplechase - Princesse D'Anjou will prove popular with the sentimentalists whilst Remember Rose goes for back to back victories in the race (Princesse herself is a dual winner) whilst Pommerol has been improving in handicaps and Louping D'Ainay is back from injury, Ramses Bleu seems better at the winter tracks (Pau and Cagnes-Sur-Mer) and Lord Carmont will appreciate the better ground.

Kauto Stone has his 2nd chase start in the Ferdinand Dufaure - he takes on some useful opposition headed by Saints Du Chenets who's been going well in the main preps for this race whilst Ole Companero is one of Macaires choices - he was third to stablemates Saint Macaire and Allen Voran in the Prix Congress (3yo Chasing Championship) in November but has been a bit off the boil since whilst Kriss William has to put a fall last time out behind him.

Some other good races on the undercard including a good 4yo Hurdle and a Listed Juvenile Hurdle too.

I would highly recommend a trip there. Sadly can't make it this year, but deffo sketched in for 2011.

anyone know will there be industry sps returned for auteuil today or will you get the pmu odds if you bet at sp online ?/
