I tend to go for outsiders and I have a decent record with these type of bets. My selections for today are:
2.30 Haydock Unshakable Will (14/1)
I expect this horse to progress from a promising first run of the season where it probably would have won if it hadn't met interference. I'm struggling to see any potential stars in this line up so I'm taking a chance on Unshakable Will on a light weight and in form trainer.
3.00 Haydock Spin Cycle (22/1)
This horse is overpriced in my opinion. It ran very fresh in the Palace House Stakes. The trainer has stated it has been working very well at home since that run and I can see it at least making the frame.
3.10 York - Tactic (12/1)
This horse will go off at about 8/1 and will run very well. Ran into an improving horse on its debut for the season and should have a good chance in an open looking race.
3.40 York - Kingdon of Light (33/1)
I must admit I'm taking a chance with this horse. Backing a 3 year old in a competitive sprint handicap at this time of the season could be the act of a mad man. I did however see this horse win at Haydock last season and got talking to one of Mr Johnson's team who told me this was a top notch horse. So it could either romp this or finish last. At 33/1 I'll take a chance with the trainer in red hot form.
