That DON'T PUSH IT could have given 4lbs to WAR OF ATTRITION in the Grand National?

only one winner there and thats the WAR lads!
Report duncan idaho April 21, 2010 12:40 PM BST
Agreed...given which, War of Attrition would have to be odds on if they ran the race tomorrow

95% of horses don't stay 4 1/2 miles no matter how little weight they carry.

Is/was WOA one of those 95%?

Pedro your hypothetical question would only encourage an opinion, much like my heading, but I believe that WAR would stay the distance, in his Gold Cup he was kept to the outside for at least 20 fences, I believe that it was so that he could see the fences, he came to the inside once he had taken the lead and beat a Grand National winner in Hedgehunter and looked to outstay him.

The trouble is Bazz, that was 2006 and this is 2010. Not a cat in hells chance of him beating Dont Push It in the National, receiving 4lbs or a stone imo.

''beat a Grand National winner in Hedgehunter and looked to outstay him.''

What now far from trouble and amaru?

Fair play Bazz that race shocked the hell out of me!! A huge marked step up on his last 10 or so chase starts and maybe connections have missed a trick somewhat. Whether he would have stayed no-one will ever know but the ability is certainly still there. A grand shout, albeit a costly one.

Great Run from WOA, still think DPI would have beat him in the National though

Deserves his long and happy retirement, glad he came home safely. All the grass he can pick at now.

Far From Trouble, you should be in politics, you are never wrong, at least you won't admit that you are.
