Not even looked at the race but can tell you he is gone for the season, his defeats bey denman and Kauto have finished him for at least this season imo
Report CVByrne April 15, 2010 5:20 PM BST
Barbers shop hasnt chance of beating Denman over 3m at punchestown
Report CVByrne April 15, 2010 5:23 PM BST
But while on the subject Denman may be worth opposing on a right handed track and after a a tough gold cup.

Never let your mum cut your hair.

Barbers Shop reminds me in some ways to Petit Robin, who is just caught on a rating where he cant win much. Admiral horse, though, imo.
Report CVByrne April 15, 2010 7:37 PM BST
Needs to avoid the grade 1 races. Or adopt different tactics over shorter distances. Give front running tactics over 2m4f maybe? Horse travels well at speed as was evidenced in the king george.

Be surprised if Barbers turned up.

Barbers Shop just dosen't jump well enough - always seems to be meeting his fences awkwardly - a bit like Punchestowns.
Report Over the last April 16, 2010 11:38 AM BST
Racing Demon is another one who falls into this class, decent horses a bit short of top class but campaigned in Grade 1's so overexposed to the handicapper
Report Fabulous April 16, 2010 1:26 PM BST
Spot on OTL, was thinking the same about Racing Demon when I posted. Both horses aimed too high imo.
