I'd disagree. He travels so well I'd stick to shorter distances. In any case they may send him chasing so I'd wait for more definite news before backing him for anything.

Not many come along who you think could win either, but hard to be dogmatic either way with this beast. Looks a real superstar.
Think I would favour the Chmapion if he were mine though.

the world hurdle would be the choice if and when it is proven that he aint a champion hurdle horse....so champion next year...world hurdle/chasing the season after.

If Big Buck's is around, there really is no point going for the 3 miler, although if they go back over fences with BB, then Peddlers would be the one to beat in the World Hurdle.

Someone said on here the other day he may not be quite quick enough for the Champion but not a stayer. I think that could be right so if they want to go chasing the Arkle would be perfect

i recall mccain saying in an interview BEFORE him winning at the festival that maguire had told him not to be too eager to send him fencing just yet!!!

True, although it does look like BB is hurdling for one more year
Personally think Peddlers is absolutely fast as fook, so if they stay hurdling, Champion would be the better option imo

Agreed again, but Binocular is more beatable than Big Buck's is imo.
I think we are very much agreed that the Arkle would be the best option anyway! ;)
I :x Peddler's Cross :x

I thought the only reason they didnt go for the supreme was because of dunguib?
Personally i dont think the Neptune form is going to work out that well. Theyll probably have a tough time over hurdles next year n I'd probably avoid until novice chasing the following year.
Its a good horse though, backed it in the neptune myself.

I don't know the answer and i am not trying to be clever, but how many PTP winners have won the Champion Hurdle. I would think being a PTP winner he is more likely to go chasing.

definitely the champion. but people are forgetting 1 horse who is unbeatable ehen hes 100 percent and thats hurricane fly. will make binocular look like a selling class horse

I would keep him over hurdles to start the season, try a good class 2 mile race to find out if he is good enough and go from there. No need to decide between Champion, Stayers or novice chase before the end of November.

i think he should be trained for arkle. then gold cup following year he will stay well in time and another year over 2miles would be good for him as staying hurdler find it hard to transform into gold cup winning stayers

I'd start him off in that decent 2.5m hurdle at Ascot, which should pay the training fees for the year. If he wins it impressively, I'd then probably try the fighting fifth or Boil Sports. If he can win either of those then he has to go for the champion. If not, and I don't think he will, then I'd send him straight over fences and stop messing about.
He's a lovely horse, but he looks a good stone below champion class to me atm. He's young and unexposed though, and may possibly prefer softer ground than he got in his biggest races, so there may be more to come.
But if Binnocular turns up fit and well he wins. The ground doesn't matter a jot to him.

Champion Hurdle for me then the Arkle the season after. Remember that Istabraq and Hardy Eustace both won the RSA Hurdle before going back in trip and I think he could have won the Supreme this year if they had gone for that.
Smashed a decent yardstick in Radium over 2m on heavy ground at Haydock and better on a sound surface, if he takes to fences he could be a cracking 2m chaser.
Cracking horse for next year whatever he goes for.

It's almost as if someone simply copied and pasted a MDH fred from the same time last year! Not that I'm trying to temper enthusiasm for a clearly very talented beast, I just hope we see him (well both of them, actually) next season.

hurldes start the season so i would guess fighting fifth to see how good he is, if does well would keep him over that distance for the champion, if his not as good as the best over hurdles in the early season arkle bound for me.
