A very taking performance by Rumoush in the Feilden Stakes today, but it's not clear whether she will run in the Guineas next or wait for an Oaks trial over a longer trip. She clearly has plenty of pace and a nice turn of foot, but the family stays well and on breeding she's sure to get at least 10f. The trainer in a post-race interview on RUK said he thought the filly would stay well, implying that perhaps the Oaks will be favoured over the Guineas, but the final decision will rest with the owner. Any thoughts on where they should go next?
Guineas on decent ground ideal for her next race, as Tregonning pointed out in post race interview she cruises over whatever distance they work her over at home. I don't see why it has to be one or the other to be honest.

She looked a lovely big scopey filly to me (purely from the RUK pictures) and is clearly a beautiful mover.
I doubt they will go Guineas route and her Oaks target looks like it will be determined by how well she runs in the Muisidora. If she gets done for stamina then they will either take the French Oaks route or Coronation at Ascot.
Also don't forget Hamdan also has Joanna who beat Special Duty last week - she could easily be his Prix Diane filly (by High Chapparal)

Speaking after the race, Marcus Tregoning said: "I'm delighted with her. She gone from a Lingfield maiden to a proper trial. She's done nothing but improve and is a nice filly and she was a bit green in front.
"Mawatheeq is by Danzig and gets a mile and a half so hopefully the [Oaks] trip won't be a problem. I love York and the track would suit her down to the ground. I'll have to speak to Sheikh Hamdan before making any decisions."
Tregoning's comment would suggest the Musidora is next.

Teddy Grimthorpe is reported to have said that a Guineas bid by Rumoush is "very unlikely" (see Racing Post). So I imagine we'll see her next in the Musidora or another Oaks trial.

I'd imagine what Rumoush does has f-all to do with Grimthrope and that quote might be re: Timepiece?

I was very taken by her performance yesterday and it screamed Oaks to me. I think she beat fillies who ultimately may want further and she looked to me that she was starting to power in the last half furlong, it was more a gradual build up of speed from about 2 1/2 out rather than instant acceleration and I would be more concerned about the track at Epsom (slightly gangly filly) than the trip. She is out of a Mr Prospector mare admittedly but the grand dam is Height Of Fashion and if her half brother by Danzig can get 12 furlongs then I think she will get it standing on her head.

Good point! Does anyone have the printed version of today's Racing Post and could check the quote? It seemed to relate to Rumoush, but if it is a quote by Teddy Grimthorpe, then it is indeed more likely to apply to Timepiece (or possibly Principal Role)... I can't find it in the on-line version.

Apologies, my mistake. The quote was indeed about Timepiece. Marcus Tregoning is quite confident, though, that Rumoush will get the Oaks trip, and I think she'll go to York next rather than the Guineas.

Elisjohn, to say she has no chance of winning Oaks because she is by Rahy is surely a bit blinkered, it's like saying Fantastic Light had no chance of winning The Breeders Cup Turf because he was by same sire. No problem with the stamina doubt as admittedly Rahy's offring generally excel over further but I think the Height Of Fashio - Bustino side of the pedigree gives real hope of her getting the trip.
