The 10 day forecast for Ayr is dry and bright....is it possible the CoC refrains from watering and leaves it to be genuine good going...Denman doesn't run and it becomes a handicap again? (Lot of ifs...I know...but how does one invest in a work stopping 'flag' by picking the winners of the GN; Scots GN; Bet 365 and Topham....?

The management of Ayr will get shot if the going is quick and Denman doesn't run. He'll be the best horse we've seen at Ayr since Red Rum.

bit dryer today but the 2 days rain before non stop and as far as i have been alive in ayrshire it has never went more than 4 days without rain hahaha soft going cert

I don't doubt your superior local knowlege blackballed - I'm simply looking for an angle foran ante post bet - I fancy mobaasher but it's well out of the handicap if denman runs and there will be only a handful worth an interest ... I'm a big denman fan but don't think the course will suit him and wuld be against him at 3s

I live about 10 miles from the course. It was chucking it down mon and tues but is a nice bright breezy day today. Ayr dries out very quickly so don't read too much into the going or forecast going. Getting into a good jumping rhythm is the key to this fair galloping track so concentrate on that aspect.

The fences are not tricky and the track is not undulating. Some seriously big priced winners have won this race before and is often targeted by trainers with horses who jump well, lie up not too far off the pace and have had not too many runs in the season, often missing out the winter months so as not to run their horse in very heavy going. Horses that appear to have been kept "fresh" and also horses that may be well out the handicap are still worthy of consideration. Mind you, I have only been going to this track and meeting for about 30 years so maybe I am still learning.

Both denman ad silver by nature out...cutting up badly and starting to look a more competitive handicap - the tother one the likely top weight?

I'm on mobaasher at 25s...think will go well if holding it's place...wont mind the ground..

Of the last ten runnings its been good to soft once, g/f once, and all the other times good. I think its fair to say it will be on the quick side of good on Sat.

One pointer may be that 9 out of the last 10 winners had won on good ground prior to winning at Ayr (not Iris de Balme).
