The reason why the price is still 20/1 is that Twiston Davies has been suprisingly quiet and not mentioned the Paddy Power. I should imagine tomorrow he will give an interview and say ballyfitz "has a huge chance" and the price will go to 10/1

Nigel Twiston-Davies looks set to saddle both Ballyfitz and Knowhere as he bids to land Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham for the second successive year. The Naunton handler trained Imperial Commander to win the prestigious prize 12 months ago, a horse who subsequently went on to win the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Twiston-Davies' assistant Carl Llewellyn feels Ballyfitz is a similar type in that he stays further than Saturday's extended two and a half miles. "Ballyfitz is making his first start of the season, but he's a strong traveller and a pretty good horse on his day, so I could see him running a big race," said Llewellyn. "All his best form has been over further, but I think the race suits horses who can stay well as they go such a good gallop and never let that pace drop, so you need a horse whose going to get every yard. "I think you need a three-miler who has the pace to lay up over two and a half miles, very much like Imperial Commander, who won the race last year. Hopefully he can hold his position and then he'll stay on well up the hill." |
