Thinking of going Newmarket on Saturday on the train, How easy is it to get from the station to the course?

Also might take a trip to glorious goodwood for the first time this year...same question how easy is it to get from the chichester train station to the racecourse?

station to rowley is about a 20 min walk ,there are buses that make the journey not sure how often, chichester to goodwood the bus by the station is just as quick as a taxi, whilst off course you could walk anywhere in life my guess would be a 2 hour walk.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it Newmarket rail station? I checked the website, but Newmarket suggested the nearest station was Cambridge...

Yep, Newmarket rail. Will have to change at Cambridge.

Trains aren't great from from Cambridge to Newmarket.  Typically a 1 carriage affair even on guineas day advisable to check times.

I went by train from Cambridge to Newmarket by train once (Pennekamp's year, 1995).  Lucky to get on the train, infrequent service, standing room only.  And it is a long walk from the station to the course.
Walking back from the course I turned around to see a taxi, stopped it, and I took it to Cambridge.  A taxi to/from Cambridge station (shared if possible) is a better option imo.

Newmarket (1902 station)
The surviving station was opened by the Great Eastern Railway on 7 April 1902. It is 800 yards (730 m) south of the site of the original Newmarket station. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Greater Anglia.
The station buildings (pictured) at the "New Station" were sold, and the current station is just a short platform with simple shelters.

I measured the distance from the station platform to the racecourse entrance using bikeroutetoaster.com.  It is a 1.93 miles walk.
