Being from Canada I grew accustomed to the Daily Racing Form and judge the horses by speed, pace and class as well as racetrack which is all neatly laid out in the form. But since being in Europe I can't find anything similar. Ghe Racing Post really just lists horses and their records. And Timeform is even worse.
Does anyone know if there's a DRF type publication for UK racing?

i find free service from RPost, with race records is all you need to find winners, guess it will always depend on what horses your looking at.usually know who im picking, just checking the rest of the runners.

Here's a sample of what I'm looking for
http://www1.drf.com/formulator-web/FreeRace.do?trackId=DMR&country=USA&raceDate=20110729&dayEvening=D&raceNumber=7#past-performance-race/7 As you see for each horse it shows for the last several races the following from left to right: The track the horse ran at, the distance, the sectional times of the horse leading, the class type, a beyer speed rating (not relevant), the horses postion in relation to the leader at each of the sections, the horse's jockey, the weight the horse was carrying, the horses odds, the top 3 finishers in the race and a comment about how the horse ran. As well at the bottom are a list of the horses last few workouts. |

If I'm not mistaken many years back there was a newspaper called the racing times in Europe that was almost identical to the daily racing form. Does anyone know what happened to it?

for me info, less is more and more is less, im dyslexic so i have a canny knack of finding winners, relie more on winning potential, ie has been winning alot lately,then at least i know its currently inform, then cross reference race records of other horses , handicap system is very good in england. reliable

True roadrunner the handicap system is good and bookmakers are pretty reliable. I know at many U.S. tracks the "morning line" odds mean absolutely nothing. At some tracks 25/1 shots in the morning odds will go off as the 2/1 favourite and win by 10 lengths while 6/5 favourites will go off at 15/1. If the U.S. had to rely on "best odds guaranteed", they'd be broke.
Still it would be nice to get more information. |

there is and never will b anything like DRF in this part of the world...if sectional times come in then maybe...but the less info you get here the better as most publications are owned by bookies or betting exchanges...andrew beyer when in europe said he would never complain about DRF again after reading the sporting life form or lack of it....
