Was seriously impressed with his debut and Fredereick Engles has obviously boosted the form since, however can he win from his draw??

this reminds me of the thread I did about shumoos...however if you look at the queen mary it wasn't really the draw
that did for her. I would imagine in any case if theres a problem the jockey can always track across to the middle.

Ye it was your thread that inspired me haha. Was going to have a nice bet on him but starting to have doubts. He is all speed and would expect him to blast out the stall and he has the far rail to run against, but that could be a disadvantage, as could tracking over to the standside. If he was drawn high I think he would take some pegging back!

with that many runners it could be a problem - just looked at Hunt Cup finishing positions and it's startling.

Those drawn in 1-7 did no better than 21st (stalls 1,5 NR).

In the pattern races with 10-15 runners, winners and placed horses look like they're coming from centre stalls as much as anything (except the Dascombe beast in last which was drawn 1).

I don't think it will change until Friday when it looks like they're gonna move the rail and ground on stands side will be chewed up after three days of all the runners coming over there.

Don't want to put you off though.

plus its stupid to take FE  form literaly....speed figures suggest FE improved a ton..

correct. no obvious reason why it should be favourite although it did look impressive
at hamilton, but the time wasn't that great given they went hell for leather from the off.
but purely on the basis of the draw it is looking rather ominous, if i'm being honest, for
those drawn low. i'd put a line through this pymans theory as well because I think she needs
to lead and she won't get that here.

i'm starting to lean towards this american raider- ok the ward horses haven't exactly been
covering themselves with glory, but I can see this kicking out of the gate, and if you read
the race description of his chantilly win then he actually kicked again once challenged, most
of the ward horses tend to show blistering speed and then fall in a hole, but i feel this could
be different.

next best would be bannock- was unlucky last time and drawn more towards the middle he can challenge late.
feel this silverheels took and age to get going at windsor and you can't get away with that at royal ascot.

Yeah agree FE has obviously improved, but no reason to think BC won't also improve. He was smashed on debut, this either means he is a machine, or they knew he was just very ready. Im hoping its the former.

I liked Silverheels debut, but he didn't look like a speedball, and his sire index doesn't fit into the stats for winners very well.

had a good look at the runners now and the one who stands out
is BURWAAS. looks like a huge great horse and ideal for this track.

from an ideal draw in 21 I think he can mow them down in the final furlong.

The fact Shumoos got beat is even more baffling.

Thanks, drift was very worrying but he appears to be very smart indeed. Especially if they think he will be better on faster ground.
