It wasn't hype, just beaten by a very good horse. Nothing wrong with that.

He was meant to be totally different class to these today. Obviously still a quality horse but not as good as the hype

You gotta look at the race to understand why he got beat, all things being even I'd plow into SYT again at odds on.
Ran with no cover, was forced to go early and in turn was vulnerable for swooping runners, perhaps Moore went too early but So You Think definitely didn't run bad, beaten by a good horse who had things go favourable for him. One thing I hate about UK racing is there always seems to be a stablemate runner (often called a pacemakers) who goes all out in an attempt to put speed into the race, yesterday it almost brang Frankel undone and today I believe it brang SYT undone. I can't understand the logic of it to be honest. |

I'd have to agree with educeee about backing this horse again, beaten by a very good horse today
By:
yeah can't wait to lump on this animal at long odds-on again.
By:
the reason the pacemaker wrecked him is cos of the start, jumped horribly and then checked him when he finally cut in to take over - ridiculous.
By:
Yes, he was too short today. Certainly we found out So You Think is not unbeatable. But didn't the odds of 4-11 already tell us that? Run this race 15 times he wins 11 and gets pipped on the line 4.
Also the pacemaker didn't do So You Think any favours. Matt Chapman has just made a very good point in the At The Races studio. Jan Vermeer, the pacemaker for So You Think, could not get to the front and when he did he did his stablemate and hot favourite no favours by cutting across him on the bend and almost bumping into him |

One of the best prices about a horse who when fresh is a very decent animal
By:
To beat 4/11 in a race like that was amazing, massively over hyped. Solid gr1 horse but he's nothing
exceptional thats for sure. O'brein's bigged him up to enhance stud fees and judging by his sour grapes after the race is still focusing on stud fees. |
By:
I disagree that if you run the race again SYT would win most of the time. Rewilding would win the majority
and beat SYT fair and square . Over 1 1/2m rewidling would beat him easier. SYT over rated, Rewilding looks really progressive. |
By:
so the stupid start meant nothing to you?
By:
risk/reward, Rewilding will probably bounce in the King George at short odds
By:
If there had been no pacemaker he'd have had to make his own pace
and compete on a level playing field. Rewilding ,i think, took the widest route and covered more ground than SYT. |
By:
I don't know how much you guys know about So You Think but his best wins in Australia were when he set the pace, that's why I cannot understand for the life of me why a pacemaker was needed.
Aiden said he didn't work SYT that much and was perhaps underdone, to be honest I know nothing about the winner but he's obviously a good horse and those 2 beat the rest by a very long way. |

workforce would of won on the steel

He was meant to be totally different class to these today. Obviously still a quality horse but not as good as the hype
There are two ways to look at it. Did So You Think perform below what was expected of him? Or did he run into another horse who raised his level to match him and was perfectly ridden to boot? As the winner had to run a track record to beat him, I suspect I know the explanation that makes the most sense. |

workforce would of won on the steel
His trainer obviously thinks so too, only dodged So You Think twice so far, must have better races than Group 1's in mind for workforce (-; |
By:
Aussie racing completely inferior so different tactics used. However pacemeker could not save him and will now continue to knock off second tier races to try and reclaim stud value while continuing to disappoint at the top level.
"Cant wait to back him at 11/4 on again"! Hilarious |
By:
he was from another plannet he could of done with the rocket that got him here if they had sea the stars where would he be from as for bart cummins slagin our racing
By:
The only hilarity I see is O'Brien's c##k up in using a pacemaker who not only checks your own horse but also sets up the race perfectly for a swooper like Rewilding.

By:
pacemakers should b baned if ur not in the race to win ya shouldnt b there frankie gave a great ride and to say he left syt short of work goin into the biggest flat week madness conciderin the bosted he bet a work horse 15 lenghts

By:
rewilding did win on the world cup night in dubai ascot could only dream of quality like that out there the market did at least get it right
By:
when you see the amount of hype that surrounded this one, alarm bells start ringing.
apparently it wasn't enough for the racing media to have one potential wonder horse that comes along every fifty years, in frankel, apparently we had another in so you think. I could be wrong but truly exceptional animals of the calibre of a sea bird or a ribot don't come around very often. If you listened to the racing media, the bbc and aiden o brien you'd think they were like buses. |

By:
last year Jan Vermeer was supposed to be one of them and look at him now
By:
ryan committed too early. shouldve won but definately not the horse they thought he was. imo.
gl |
By:
there wasnt much commitin he looked one paced and got out stayed by a last year ledger horse if can clifs got an extra 2 he would of made bits of them stoute should of ran workforce as wel
