Shropshire was highlighted on the "Two Year Olds" thread last year sometime before his winning debut. I think you can forget the Gimcrack race.
I would guess that some cut in the ground would suit him. I cannot see any breeding reason not to get the mile, I think his brother Arctic was the one who ran contrary to his pedigree in being a sprinter.
