A fantastic track, one of the very best I've been to.
I lived not far away for a year in 2000 and loved the place. About 15 bookmakers, all displaying guaranteed liability of up to $1,000.00 per bet. The prize money even for non competition races was off the chart to ours even way back then with TAB money. A grand for decent graded races was about the standard. I have very good memories of the place. It seems the track didn't want to continue the lease as it was unviable. Signs of the times indeed... |
