the whole of greyhound racing is a total mess, prize money a joke, you can't get a decent bet on in shops or online (apart from betfair), no betting shows in the shops practically until they start loading, endless graded sprint races / handicaps, no replays available for the pgr tracks, i only bet at hove and if replays aren't available soon that's me done.
all pgr have done is stick the word premier in front of the words greyhound racing, they could have just put new and improved recipe, it means the same thing = absolutely nothing, if you want people to go greyhound racing, bet on it and watch it you have to get the word out there, there should be adverts in every betting shop with the website address / sky channel of every channel that it's viewable on, adverts in the redtops, bring back the 24 dog comps that were so popular at hackney back in the day, bookmakers should be made to take a reasonable bet on any dog minimum £25 that would be a start, there's good money staked on greyhound races every day, as i've discussed on another thread and the prize money is nothing but an insult, we badly need to attract new blood into this sport and the crap prize money for graded racing is badly holding the sport back, if this was raised to say bottom grade £300 to the winner and top grade £600 to the winner, this would instantly attract new owners, breeders would breed more dogs, trainers could charge more and increase their staff and betting turnover would increase, everyone's a winner. |

what's really needed is a greyhound levy, which should have been sorted a long time ago.

The bookmakers have squeezed it dry
RPGTV were told on here years ago to rebrand the show...the demise is down to themselves And the fat controller |

Thanks Case. Hanging in here. Hope you are well too. Henlow 21st?
By:
It’s only works if you have sky direct
It does not work via virgin I believe |
By:
Nor does it work without a Smart TV.
By:
from my understanding that is because the new red button content is streamed and not analogue as it always has been so requires an internet connection.....i am having trouble with sky q box where sometimes the red button works and sometimes it doesn't......fook knows why....have now just set up an ipad for the video using https://www.premiergreyhoundracing.co.uk/ and computer for betfair.....
By:
I either use the ATR website or betfair LV to watch those other tracks.
By:
Not too Bad Cat don't think I will make Henlow mate . Forgot it was closing, sad loss, qwerky old track but I liked it
By:
confirmed going off air end of march
so there's no TV coverage of SIS tracks (english derby coverage?) leaving us to enjoy the absolute sh1tfest PGR channel ...last 1 out |
By:
I stopped watching when they lost Hove, Monmore to name but two tracks.
Replacing it with Valley, graded at Clonmel is a huge turn off. The presenters looked like they were just grinding it out for the regular income it provided but completely disinterested and who can blame them? You could consider it as an act of mercy to finally pull the plug. |

By:
its gone end of month good job was showing rubbish
By:
no more clarkey lovely

MDM… very shortsighted of you. Didn’t have to watch every meeting.?! What this does mean is that it’s 1.01 greyhound racing isn’t around within 2-3 years max sadly…

A sad state of affairs , It was obvious some time Back that Viewers were no longer Tuning in , The new schedule basically a disaster ,the Final nail , of Little interest bar Track followers ..
Were some very good Times back in the day , and During the Lockdown caper was certainly something to look forward to .. Don't know how all this Media Rights Business Works , but surely a show 3 or 4 nights a week could be set up by someone ? Actually covering decent racing .. its sad demise certainly nothing to be Cheering about Perhaps an Independent group of Punters Dog followers could set Something up ? I'm sure some of the books would still pay for Advertising ,If the product was presented properly As I said I don't know too much regarding that side of Things, and what Evenings at what tracks could be covered The PGR is sub standard to say the least , Again just about watchable if you follow one track The Derby is Just going to be silly , Someone has to cover it Properly ,Regardless of what thoughts some may have on the track |

when you think all those years ago when we were funking for walthamstow streams then barking mad then gone to the dogs then the loss of sky greyhound productions presented by jeff sterling the introduction of RPGTV as a professional greyhound channel was a revelation....i know it may of affected attendances but they were ruined when race times went from 7.30pm starts to 5.50 and earlier......will be a shame to see it go but once they stopped showing tracks i follow was only oxford that held any interest......i hope now there is no competition PGR look to invest in their video product and employ some producers who are able to provide a better and more consistent product.....

There is an article in The Greyhound Star suggesting that streaming company Ayozat have plans to relaunch Sportystuff TV at some stage in the future. So at least that's positive feedback.

If it’s predominantly that $hite from the Valley and Harlow again it will fail again
By:
It no doubt will, I can't watch that racing either.
They'd have to get Susannah Reid to present it before I'd reconsider. |
