These 'short' fields are now part of the furniture. I would love to know why as I have racked my brain trying to see who benefits from this now permanent trend. I thought at first they would be a 'seven day wonder' but no, they are now becoming the norm. Someone is benefiting from this otherwise it would get fixed. Punters inside and outside the UK must be thinking the whole industry is going down the toilet. I personally refuse to bet in a short field and I feel sure I am not alone. The powers that be must surely realize what a pathetic advertisement for greyhound racing this is. Why not take action ???

I for one have benefitted from smaller dog fields but agree it does seem to be the norm latley. Monmore today has one less race than normal.....usual start time 13.49 or 13.57Confused

You don't know whether to laugh or cry being brought up with crowds in their thousands paying to watch 8 race cards and now a few dozen people with 12 or 14 races to stagger through.

loved greyhound racing, used to go to Romford with my Dad as a kid, and managed a betting shop next to the track for years, also managed to make quite a few grand arbing on dogs with B365 and others, sadly now banned and restricted lol, Im afraid I honestly dont think the sport will be around in 10 years, less races, less dogs, badly run tracks with delays all the time, cannot see it lasting too much longer.
