its shocking what's going on and what the gbgb are letting go. they talk a good game on welfare but do nothing,it's all about the money now and doing what the bookmakers say
its different and different for mainly bad reasons but as long as principal tracks produce graded cards there will always be greyhound racing and it will probably outlive most of us with many still playing those cards and nicking a few quid until we fall off the perch........

a few simple things could improve the game so easily though, first up in graded racing a trainer cannot have more than one dog in the race. No reason why they have to have multiple dogs in each race. Each contracted trainer at a track should have equal numbers in kennels. If they need to have a system where dogs need to be moved around to balance it up then so be it. Its not going to affect ¨owners¨" as such as nearly all the graded dogs are now trainer owned..

Not as easy as that switch with regard equal numbers. Trainers have different kennels which can accommodate different numbers. Fwiw, I don't mind a trainer having 2 in a a race. Would draw the line there though.

That would be a sensible approach Wonders, or trainers all told as part of their contracts they are required to have room for x amount of dogs. That number should be equally spread between those trainers being paid by the track.

The game is in terminal decline wedge. The bookmakers are responsible . They control their puppets the racing managers, the gbgb , the rpgtv etc Its not like it wasnt predictable As a profitable sport on its own it no longer has the spectator pulling power Its not seen as P C in the UK I accept we can all look at the brightside ....but do you think the bookmakers would care about the sport , if the profit went out of it ?
Kinky was right years ago on here when he said the gbgb had sold out to the bookies
The Jockey Club/BHA must be next on the list.

Although I am as critical as most about the present state of Greyhound Racing in this country I have to say that trainers having two in a race goes back as far as I can remember. I remember complaining about it at my local track Clapton in the 1960s.

Sorry if not clear wonders but when I say draw the line there, I meant just the 1 trainer with 2 dogs.
