I've no idea what happened in this race. There was no video coverage from anywhere. the race has been voided. Does ANYONE have any clue what happened here. they resumed with the next race which was covered. This is totally bizarre.

I watched the race also and ended up with the forecast 4 & 6 and then it came up on the bettered screen as void.
No explanation and nothing appeared untoward in the race, T5 made a mess of the start but if that’s enough to void a race all of Scurlogue Champs races would be voided.
Problem is most people who would have had a bet wouldn’t ever have known it was void so another raft of sleepers in their offices.

Oxford Stadium can confirm it will be replacing its starting mechanisms.

The same procedure will apply to our sister venue Towcester Racecourse.

This move is necessary to ensure we uphold the highest welfare standards and guarantee a safe racing environment for all greyhounds, their trainers and owners.

All traps in operation will be constantly monitored during this transition period and work to replace the current boxes with curved openings and a solenoid and spring starting mechanism has started with immediate effect.

Thanks a lot guys and the twitter feeds helped. Clearly the traps open far too slowly and the greyhounds are well ahead of them. I will avoid Oxford and Towcester from now on. Funny - because I've always noticed how badly I do at those tracks - maybe that bingo element explains it - my guess is major bookmakers who sponsor these tracks are delighted with the randomness introduced by all sorts of issues that could presumably be fixed quite easily. What?! In 2022 we have rockets that can re-land back on their launch pads precisely but we can't open some greyhound traps quickly! Who are we kidding? what a scam.
