Fekking ridiculous. What a shambles this once great sport now is.

The fact that just the two of us are the only ones to comment so far on the Greyhound Forum proves the point. As you say Hall Green a shambles and I will add a bloody embarrassment for the sport I once loved and now hardly bother with.

Can only agree

As HGS has already said, the sport is not an enjoyable one to get involved with in the way all of us on here once did. I'm very much a part timer and take an interest twice a week on average to do the RPGTV trap challenge as I tend to do well with that over a sustained period.
The rest of it, I simply have got better things to do with my time than to follow greyhound racing. |
By:
Bit bemused here, why is it a shambles? Wasn't Wallis just bloody unlucky with the trap draws or am I missing something?
By:
Unlucky but got 3 though to next rd mind you
I’d said it’s bit Unusual for that to happen But if there come out of drum what can you do Wallis must Laughed when he saw it |

Ok, I'll hold my hands up here and didn't realise it was a second round of a comp and they were drawn this way. Still shouldn't happen.
By:
It doesn't matter whether a competition or not it is ridiculous for one trainer to have all the dogs for one race and can't possibly have happened before. There ought to be a rule to prevent one trainer dominating a race with more than two dogs but thats just my opinion.
By:
Exactly sparrow. Unless it's a final and they all make it there, there HAS to be a rule against this sort of thing happening.
By:
Just checked the results and out of 4 second round heats, all 5 make the same race. Couldn't make it up.

when crayford first opened all the greyhounds for every graded race were trained by one trainer.........cant remember his name think it was something like parsons but im sure someone can confirm......
By:
If that is true winja, then did nobody think it was a problem?

its true Sparrow......here is the link

Thank you for the link winja and I'm sure Mr Parsons ended with some impressive statistics. All joking aside I find the whole thing quite unbelievable as I can remember many complaints in the 1960s of trainers being allowed to have just 2 dogs in a race and I usually would not have a bet when that happened.

They keep one countrys clubs apart in the champions league
Why cant it be done with Greyhound Racing ? Massive fail imvho |
By:
I had dogs trained by a master of getting the outsider of three in. I got married on the score from one.
![]() He was also the best I ever knew at getting a reserve winning. And he never broke any rule or took liveries by getting undue improvement. It's called training skill and who could blame them. Even then they worked on a shoestring. |
By:
Typo. Liveries = liberties.
