Not sure what Newcastle can do to get the good dogs to actually start running in their competitions
I think toner gets £10 k but not sure?
No entries from Wallis Hutton Jansens etc
Also most like have to pay £15k to £20k to the winner
And have at £1kb one offs on final night which then might encourage them to enter the pups so can say have 5 or 6 runners on final night
It’s like a north east derby, even has a Newcastle A5 grader running, dearie me

Their spokesman says it’s top class!
The problem (which obviously they can’t alter) is “Location Location Location”
Which is also an extra reason why the Derby shouldn’t be at Towcester, , poor transport links, limited accomodation etc
The Greyhound Derby should be at Monmore or Perry Barr, re football the new Wembley should have been at somewhere like the NEC
Having said that it appears that right now nobody else wants the Derby so it’s a good job that Towcester do, bloody awful place to run it though in terms of location and in terms of track wise it’s basically a larger Romford (another great place to be a layer but not to run your dog)
