lol
Monmore going looks passable.  Very short T2 winner of the opener Railed like a good 'un to take the lead around the 1st and 2nd bends.  Raced right away on the rail.

Sheffield look fine too.

Look at that Rommers rain.  Railers have no chance tonight.

Spoke too soon about Monmore.  Hare stopped in the 6.33 - water the issue apparently.

2nd bend at Rommers the soggy one?
Report LoyalHoncho October 2, 2021 6:48 PM BST
Going again at Monmore - hare issue apparently resolved.

Heavy going at Hove when they had their lush grass straights was a wide runners Xanadu, 6 & 5 reverse forecast doubles and trebles being the order of the day.

memories of greyhound racing when sand could not be fecked with
Report LoyalHoncho October 2, 2021 11:02 PM BST
Yeah.  Sanded bends first then full sanded tracks. Inevitable, sadly, for two reasons.  Greyhound welfare and ease of maintenance. Way way back in the mists of youth my mate bought a dog with only three left toes.  Fed it like royalty, walked it, had it in tip top condition and got a mark.  Lumped on - him not me - and the dog fizzed out, led the bend three, couldn't get round and came out well back. The hard turf had done the dog in previously.  Laugh  Carfin, where they never lifted or scraped off snow and would clear the hare rail only and race in six inches of the white stuff.  The braziers were magic in the winter!  Laugh
