Whats the record for the most races in the UK anyone know ?
On another point when any dogs fail to finnish there should be an update from the track
to let us know how they are ,I know RPTV do try , but it should be standard practice , Imagine
Watching a race on TV where a horse fails to get up after a fall and no update given ,it would
not happen, but for our 2nd division sport it seems not to be a problem .

The Sport is as rancid to the core with greed and skullduggary - but these heros of the sport are soon forgotten by many - because its all about the money money money - The amount of dogs loaded up lame and ran into the ground for financial gain is rotten - funnily enough the majority are drifters

Well 245 races is some feat , I don't know a dog had more races Must be one ,as stated she loved charging round , I hope she has been looked after be nice to give an update and perhaps show her winning one . Whens its the top class dogs we practically have a wake on the TV , they are all the same IMVHO .They all chase the same hare some are Just a bit quicker .

What we had was " a dog went wrong in the race ,we cant show a replay "
What we should have had , is a Comment regarding her amount of runs and we will try get
an Update ,in a normal world that is , Not some carry on when we have hosts looking embarrassed and not knowing what to do when dogs get injured , Programme has a large audience many watching nightly will know the dogs ,well , some may even be concerned , you never know ..
Over the years many of my favourite dogs have been Graders some of them certainly not the quickest .

Sums the fooking sport up , Throw away would cover it , it needs to change, Unfortunately
All that matters is bookmaker coverage , and dogs being fired round tracks Morning noon and
night ..

What you say is correct case and I actually backed Slaneyside Agnes that night and it was an awful sight no doubt but this forum is not what it once was I'm afraid and people have lost interest. When we recently discussed a Mark Wallis dog being withdrawn in a final there was uproar on here with all sorts of people coming out of the woodwork to defend him but when it comes to the state of the game there is very little debate on here. People more concerned with pinching a price 10 hours before the off these days.

Nice old bitch Sparrow I had not had a bet,she would deffo have placed if not won , she won quite a few and was often in the frame ,she loved racing hardly ever ran a bad race ,I was astounded at the reaction in the Studio , A DOG WAS INJURED we will not be showing the replay ,at Least Name her , its time there were updates on injured dogs , it would not happen in any other sport a competitor getting injured and no update , RPTV need to do something it is not 3 minute cannon fodder racing we have in the shop ,it is a Show many watch , JK wants to get his finger out ..
IT WAS NOT A DOG GOT INJURED IT WAS A BITCH , AND HER NAME WAS SLANEYSIDE AGNES ,SHE RAN HER HEART OUT IN 245 races , I for one would like to know if she is ok ..
All sitting around wringing their hands when open dogs get injured , not a word when a grader is injured , foooking scandalous , but say nothing as long as the Pay Cheque hits the bank at the end of the Month .
I am not blaming Phil , I know Phil he is a lovely bloke and a proper dog man , He didn't know what to do or say ,there is an underlying "move on quickly policy" on the show regarding injuries ,its Callous and it needs to stop . I am sorry if I appear to be going on but it upset me , the issue of injury updates needs to be addressed .IF NOT WHY NOT ?

Ill just add this , if she has no where to Go , I'll take her ..
Trainer or whatever can contact me on here .She deserves a happy retirement .
I don't know who owns her hopefully she will go home with them ,If not my offer stands.
And on another Point if Dogs are injured and have no homes and we get an update on RPTV
could they not have a re-home spot on the Show ,there are enough dog people watching .

Instead of all sitting around looking like a gang of Awkward Idiots , do something regarding injuries they happen , Don't hide them ,do summat positive IMVHO.

When a dog gets knocked over or injured panic sets in immmediately in the studio with a quick dash to the adverts and they all seem to be embarrassed as if such a thing had never been known to happen before and needs to be swept under the carpet without delay.

I know we should be glad there is a dedicated TV show most evenings for greyhound racing but it has to be the most poorly produced/directed channel in the UK. Collisions/falls/injuries, the occasional fatality are part of the sport. Either cover it professionally by being honest and explain why it happens and what happens when injuries occur or dont bother covering the sport. The pathetic `lets go to the adverts' is shameful and cowardly.

I remember a Sky show at Romford where Matt Chapman reported live from the kennels soon after a race saying that a dog was put to sleep after suffering an injury on the track. This was not taken well by the viewers. But a dog being pts is the only definitive news that you would get from the tracks for a RPGTV race. Otherwise all you will hear is that the dog is being treated by the track vet, being made comfortable and will be subsequently treated by the trainers vet.
