Unfortunately I have some sad news , Steve (Woodmanchester) passed away on Monday.

I'm not a regular poster on this forum and realise he divided opinion but I've known him for over 10 years and the one thing you can say is that he loved his greyhound racing and would travel as often as he could to see top class racing.

RIP. Steve.

Jeez Sad

Had many disagreements re dogs on here with him in the past but also met and had a few drinks with him a few times on track, he did love his racing and was a nice harmless chap on person. Brought his missus with him one year to SPK, condolences to her, his family and friends.

Both he and Chris gone this year Sad

First person I know who has been taken by this Virus if only through our posts on here

if anyone can get his families details we could send a card with a few quid , or perhaps if they

would like us to donate to a charity Let us know ..

Ill start a new Derby thread in his name when we know what the new track is , We can keep the

thread for all Derbys going forward ..He would like that Happy Probably take a few to get up

to the Number of selections Woodie would have had for one Happy

contacted owlerton with a view to sponsor a race in woodys memory they replied and said at the moment they are doing no sponsorship
i am keen at some stage to get a race sponsored in his memory i thought owlerton fitting as he frequented there
other than that i am prepared to get involved with any of you that might also wish to maybe a purchase of a hound and call it woody steve

i ripped the sh1te out of him had my reasons considering his calling but he did love the hound and the lambo but far to young i will miss him

I used to give him plenty of stick, one thing it has made me realise is, why? He was offering an opinion, that should have been it, I will not have a pop at anyone again for offering an opinion, not even Mr Birch, life is for living, woody, if you are reading this upstairs, I am sorry, far too young to be taken away, most of us on here are around the same age, it could happen to any of us, RIP woody.

Some "descent" comments here which I find very welcome.  Maybe we can all have a think and start afresh?
What would we call the race?
The woody "scattergun" stakes?
The woody "blocker" open?
The woody "It's Agueroooooo" sweepstakes?
