Henlow/Towcester promoter Kevin Boothby has issued the following statement concerning prize money at both tracks from Monday:

“I am pleased that SIS have reached an agreement with the bookmakers as regarding carry on with racing during the lockdown period. However this has come at a cost as all betting shops in England are closed and this is how the revenue is generated to fund the service.

“As from Monday 9th November win money on all graded races at Henlow and Towcester will be reduced by £40 per race.

“Also all fixtures and number of races will remain the same and we will review the win money once lockdown has ended and hopefully betting shops reopened. I am pleased to say that the run money and your contract money will stay the same and will not be affected.

“Also can I please remind everyone to stay safe and please social distance at the track and wear facemasks and wash your hands regularly.”

but don't worry the owners will suffer it again so henlow can start at 8am for the bookmakers and everything is rosy in the greyhound world the owners love their greyhounds and dont mind sis and arc taking the right p1ss out of them welcome to greyhound racing in 2020 where greyhounds are costing more prize going down owners can't get a bet now in australia prize money fantastic run on proper tracks with no going bias and owners can show a great profit on prize money so if you never visit the kennels my advice is look at getting a dog in aus because it's the way forward in 10 years time you will see more people from great britain owning dogs in aus forward thinking people

"thee game is waning due to outside interference"

Yet without it there would be no game that is sadly  how it has ended up .

Its hard to believe that the Game ever existed With out it  ..

Owners will pack up then the breeders , Turn the lights off last one out

Agree with everything written regarding this decision!! Guys on a serious point, is there a way that we could get a consortium together to try and get something similar to the Aus model over here..? IE a tote/exchange backed sport only? No bookmaker interference, better running conditions, far far better win and prize money..? Would the proper Billy Bunters be open to that being the way forward over here? As the way it’s going, something has got to change fast....

Let the GBGB sink and personally think it wouldn't be too difficult.

Helping them represents zero value right now too far gone.

There are still some great people involved in the game.. many on here have good ideas etc. I watch and now play certain tracks in Australia and just wonder whether with the right team in place, something similar could be achieved..

Agree on this but during any long winded transition which would be inevitable, everyone will just start turning to and punting Aussie dogs.

The bookmakers are just so so far off the pace now I'm sure they are considering pulling the plug tbh

its embarrassing really is
