If you had a nice few quid on paint n u thought it was a hazard what would you do? I,m not suggesting for a minute that its not lame. But if it was mine it wouldnt run either.

So the allegation is that connections have bet against their own dog?

That's disgusting and in a final on the biggest night of the Greyhound year. I trust the matter will be fully investigated if there is any suspicion.

fully renowned for it sparrow,,,,remember good dog headford octane,,,,connextions fell out with mark because e ran it in henlow maiden derby final when the dog was not 100% n was not goin 2 run to merit,,believe mark laid the dog at odds on n did not tell connextions, dog was quickly removed from kennel by owners,,big falling out,,and went to lambe where sadly suffered fatal injury in first start for trainer.

I wouldn't have suspected him paint but there again I'm not so in touch with the game as I once was. A sorry state of affairs if this sort of thing is going on.

I tell you what Sparrow, if some of the lunacy came out with full transparency , we would not be betting on this sport.

At the end of the day we are talking about an open race stayers final on Derby night not a 2 bob affair at a flapping track so I just would not expect it.

Paint i dont no the answer. I have no spies in that camp. I would doubt that there is an ulterior motive. As wedge said or intimated hard to av seen 4 being a hinderance to fav.

Message from MK regards the nonsense from the usual guessers.

Octane did run poor at Henlow in the final, the dog went to traps perfect however the surface underneath certainly wasnt after a storm,he missed the break and went wrong out the 2nd bend.

Yes,the allegation was made that i had laid the dog. I was on hols in Dubai at the time and seething,i confronted Paul Oliver about the allegation and in turn confronted Lisa Stephenson partner Tom whom Paul had suggested was the one spreading the rumour. Both men denied saying that i had laid the dog.

Yes we have withdrawn dogs, the thing is,with us the dogs come 1st,2nd and fkin 3rd so given our dogs are very often the head of any market they are in,firstly we wouldnt do it if we didnt think it was in the dogs best interests and secondly you'd get bell ends like the ones on here posting sheit about their runs.

For Sparrow, not that i owe you an explanation( or any of the other guessers here) but i'll do you the courtesy this once.

Bee has a badly bruised monkey muscle and we have further targets for her down the line that would be jeopardised by running her in this condition saturday an we wouldnt do that to pls the likes of you and your minions,as i said,we put the dogs 1st here.

Thank you for your reply patrick but I used the word allegation and so I resent the word "guessser". I did not make the allegation myself and said that if there was suspicion then the matter needs to be investigated.

Apologies if I care about the credibility of the sport and ask about a serious allegation. But good of them to send a representative to explain.

I bin in mk company a couple o times. I think he would agree he,s something of a marmite carachter. I found him an engaging man very knowledgable on all things gambling and greyhounds. I like him others dont. Whether you like him or not he will av acrewed over the yrs a vast amount of money backing and laying dogs and horses. I dont think as i said earlier there was anything untoward in the withdrawel. Games hard enough without drawing unwanted attention to yourself.
