Everybody Happy ![]() Some sort of Upper limit to perms to Stop the buyers If that could be done. get a pool to a million big adverts Etc .. Its what the sport needs , What it does not need is a gang of takers suffering from Delusions of grandeur spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on un needed rent . |

Yeh, Bernard wanted a five week competition that tied up the best 48 dogs in the UK and Ireland for the duration. A knock out like the Derby doesn't suit his pool betting operation. Think of the the impact that on the existing four bend Cat 1s. There would only be one winner, whereas the Cat 1s that would have to have been pulled would have given owners other opportunities to win a Cat 1.
Oh, couple that with Bernard's refusal to even consider paying into the Fund, then you can see why it was never going to work for the GBGB. So, we don't have a a five week version of that bonkers Towcester Premier League comp at Sittingbourne that drives a coach and horses through the the already congested Open race calendar. But we get a good Cat 2 two with a generous and innovative bonus. Sounds a good outcome. If he loves greyhound racing so much, why doesn't he just sponsor the Derby for £150K? |
