And rightfully so may I add.
SP to Exchange -5% a dog, easy. |

i cant believe there is an appetite in this country for tote only betting......once the crowds return the track bookmakers will be required.....its no use having industry returns with so many account restrictions across the board and if the tracks have a tote monopoly i can see Betfair bans like the old stow restrictions being applied..........unless the tote market was as strong as the ones sparrow has been reminiscing about it would be torture having a bet without a clue as to the return.....

Not get some sort of deal in place that forces an exchange return for X amount of years.
I dont want a tote either but what do the bookies get to stand a week? 100 quid average? 300 quid that could be better spent at most places. |
By:
Certainly not 100 quid each to stand....try 700-900.
Off course scum will be using the ready made Betfair moves and prices if allowed? Hopefully Betfair won't allow it, don't know how though, why should they be allowed to use them then add on another 27% for themselves? If they want there own industry prices then formulate them yourselves and reap the carnage from your **** ups. Betfair was bought in as an alternative so why should they just copy it.....also who wants to bet on the Tote on afternoon meetings with 40 quid liquidity, not everyone has got Betfair. Also Saturday night crowds like to bet in cash rather than queuing up at an undermanned Tote booth........Gambling Commission, don't let them get away with it despite how much is in the brown envelopes....this will be another nail in the greyhound racing product! |
By:
if they bet to 126 percent without track bookmakers got no problem with that it will put some track bookmakers to shame plus most track bookmakers wont take a bet on graded morning and afternoon meetings so they are not needed and will save the track or sis money if i was in charge they be gone if they wanted to bet say on a open race night or sat night then they would have to pay to stand up an i would give the money to the local track greyhound retirement kennels
By:
The model they will be using is a rip off 128%.....already in place. 121% was the accepted 10 years ago, why the extra 7%greed?
As displayed and used at Yarmouth before the lockdown there was about 10 price changes every dog....as 2 quid lined up on betfair to back....the algorithm trimmed half a point from the odds......no good to anyone except them.....hopefully the government/gambling commission will say be happy with the 18-23% you are copping on the present system...take a few bets and you might get a bit more if you try hard enough! |
By:
think they will have to pay punters to turn up forget betting there will be even more cheating going on
By:
take the meeting they had on the friday night before the shutdown i would have them prices all day long rather than the track bookmakers shows i admit the 1st and 2nd in the betting were much bigger on betfair but at least they pushed the rags out makes a change getting 8t1 an 10t1 chances rather then the 5t1 and 6t1 they would have been with the track bookmakers who bet to no opinion and just want to play around the front 2 and strangle the rest of the runners
By:
i dont think it will make any difference as anyone with half a clue cant get a bet anyway.firms will still offer early prices for those fortunate enough to have access to accounts and the actual market before the off will be under betfair as it is at the moment with the odd exception at some shows at sheffield.anyone who makes money cant get a bet from a bookmaker anyway so for me prices and sps are irrelevant.

PB been a lot higher than swindon??

Biggest concern is how long before those fine upstanding off course bookmakers start skimming a bit off the sp of the winner and tacking it on the price of a looser to keep the % right. When not if imo.
