This fellah you degrade came over to ireland last year and spoke to many people in rural ireland about starting a college for kennel hands. He was welcomed and lauded by m p s or tds as we call them over here. He has got the backing of laddies and is a hundred per cent diamond .
ok no probs ,, just dont think hes up to sitting on the panel,,not saying hes not a decent gent,,
the guy must be making a fortune on rpgtv,, hes on most night s and all he goes on about is forecasts,,
John comes across as a lovely bloke, he has been there and done it in various fields and has probably forgotten more about greyhound racing than I'll ever know.
Slippy he owns greyhounds but hes only been in the game since march last year
does anyone have any idea what they will be getting payed for a night on the panel of rpgtv
the guest on there might be a lovely guy ,
but watching and listening to him is painful.

Ali Brown was a very fine cricketer, he played for my local team Surrey at The Oval for many years and England of course.

Sure Ali was in a poker tourney down in Brighton when the doggy men on here at the time had a meet up. Sound bloke as my jaded memory recalls.
He used to sit in the Diamond room at a table with us on Occssions, My memory has gone as well ,Then round the miller side I would see him occasionally

But he's still a guesser.
Not a real greyhound person, and probably wouldn't have a clue about Brough Park,Stainforth or Owlerton, but
still tries to come across as greyhound knowledgeable.
In my opinion you need to put the hard yards in to visit tracks to understand the idiosyncrasies of each.
Just picking out numbers / prices from the Racing Post should not qualify you to spout about the sport.
Of course, you can , but you don't get any respect from proper dog boys.

It always surprises me on these forums, and not just the greyhound one, as to how people are so concerned with the media and the pundits.

What? he said hes only been involved with greyhound racing since April.
Ali has a clue and puts some work in. Its worth listening to what he says. Not saying hes a judge but hes sensible and often is not far away. As for the other guy, no doubt a nice old boy but as a panelist it was unwatchable, He could hardly speak and waffled on and knew nothing about the dogs.

He found glen johnson, lee bowyer, joe cole, jamie stewart, van aanholt, amongst many kinky , he was still with Crystal Palace until last year . 76 and paid off , so he's sinking the money into the dogs .Met him last year in Galway very positive about the game.
He seems a nice old boy Irish but was awful watching on RPGTV. Someone to have a chat with in quiet pub rather than on TV for hours talking about non greyhound stuff. I was in the same game Irish, was head oppo scout. There are so many scouts in football half are useless and only there because of mates.

Irish,sounds like you do not agree with my idea of a proper greyhound chappies, but would be interested in hearing your version.

Well into the night at wake comment came up
"Yeah he wasva good worker and he worked there ten years"
...."but he werent a proper railway man"
Lost his life on the track ffs
