Would not have thought so backatrier. Weights sheet printed at the stadium on the day. Not sure if any tracks make these available online but doubt it. Best thing to do is to contact the racing office of the track involved. They will be able to advise if they can assist in any way with this.

Do not waste your time worrying about weights it wont help you get winners.
Report backatrier September 3, 2019 8:07 PM BST
Thanks for reply's lads.
Dog77 don't you think the weight of a dog returning from injury or season is relevant to their likely fitness?
Couple of dogs I follow are returning & are .75 & a kilo up from the weights they have shown their best form. I want to have decent bet once their weight tells me they are back to full fitness.

I asked RPGTV to show against each race.
Reply indicated it was copyright data belonging to individual tracks, so could not be not be done.
This information is the single most important piece of information for a a serious punter.
I would not want to  bet a dog with  + . 09 since its last run, even if it put it near it's proper racing weight.
Suggests to me, it's been on the sofa for a week.
Report patrick starr September 3, 2019 8:56 PM BST
that doesnt apply to open race bettors cos i guarantee the scales at different tracks will all weigh differently
Report irishone September 3, 2019 8:56 PM BST
.09 of a kilo ? Whats that two pounds ?
Be more concerned if it put it on having had five runs in previous 15 days !
Report RothmanMike September 3, 2019 8:57 PM BST
I only play in staying opens.

Patrick starr 100 % correct. Varies so much track to track. In old days wen i was kennelhand i had chart on our wall nxt to scales the variance from track to track. Back then digital scales were being introduced. I was with jimmy gibson at the time. Had horrendous journey from kennels to sheffield on a friday. Took me 5 hrs. Just got there in time. Put dog on scale he was 1.2 up from last run at zoo. From our kennel scale to sheffield was .6 difference. I asked mr baldwin nicely if he could put him theu at a kilo. He said no. It was for comp following friday we were entering 3. I lost plot n told him the 3 dogs wouldn,t arrive nxt friday. He just laughed. Dogs were entered start of following week. Mysteriously the van broke down.Laugh must av thought i was some mug. Few exchanged calls btwn sheff n my boss. We didn,t go back for about 6 months entered 1 dog for a maiden 500 7/2 to evens. U could get good money on at time. Dog won a tattie field. There endeth the lesson.Laugh

Backatrier - some facts for you to consider. Some dogs do not stand still on scales and some racing offices are not that bothered about getting an accurate reading. Also it is not hard to hold a few pounds when steadying a dog !! A pup from Ireland will gradually put on weight until a Trainer finds his/her best weight, so how will YOU know when that is? Some guessers love to back a dog down in weight but dont consider that maybe the dog has fretted the weight off or is feeling the cold. I would rather back a dog up in weight, one who is happy and content and obviously a good grubber. So you see, its not an exact science and will not find you winners. There endeth my lesson lol

just what is the point of dog weights
they don't weigh athletes or horses
Report RothmanMike September 4, 2019 6:57 PM BST
You've obviously led a sheltered life if you think they don't weigh horses.
Report wedge1 September 4, 2019 7:15 PM BST
ok mike enlighten this relic
Report RothmanMike September 4, 2019 7:41 PM BST
I think you'll find that many of the leading trainers are very keen on weighing their horses regularly if not daily to determine
the good health of their animals.
You surely have heard many tell interviewers that a horse lost x amount of weight during a race ,etc.
This is now the modern thing, and many people want this information to be put in the public domain.
I may of course, be imagining all this.
Report privatehire September 4, 2019 8:31 PM BST
Little titbit. Mark wallis weighs evry dog evry day. Multiple time champion trainer. Patrick jannsens imo likely champion trainer this year. Weighs evry dog evry day.
Report RothmanMike September 4, 2019 9:38 PM BST
Another little tit-bit Private.
I spoke with Mark Wallis at Henlow a year or so ago , and remarked that one of his odds on shot losers that night had quite a large increase
in weight. His reply surprised me somewhat , when he said , he didn't take any notice of weights !
Report wondersobright September 4, 2019 10:32 PM BST
trainers were weighing horses in martin pipe's day
Report privatehire September 4, 2019 11:55 PM BST
I worked there for 4 yrs with linda jones then mark. Unless he,s changed his training regime which i doubt, they were weighed evry day. If a dog went up half a pound 1 day n nxt day it was up again his or her food would be altered to bring it to wer it should be. So much racing these days n early starts now it may have changed. Evry ounce of food a dog had at charlie listers was weighed b4 it went in dogs dish.
Report RothmanMike September 5, 2019 12:24 PM BST
Perhaps he meant that if a dog was a few ozs up he was not too concerned.
But why bother weighing them if they were not too bothered either way - odd.
Report RothmanMike September 5, 2019 12:25 PM BST
Private, were you there when Palace Issue was around.
Report RothmanMike September 5, 2019 12:28 PM BST
Apologies, that was of course Linda Mullins.
Who were the mid-distance stars when you were at Linda Jones'.
Report hectoratoratora September 5, 2019 2:43 PM BST
RothmanMike ,possibly MW may have meant that he takes no notice of the official weights because he already knows what they weigh on his own scales. The kennels i worked in also weighed every dog every day and we never took the slightest notice of the official weights, all that mattered was what they weighed on the kennel scales because we knew we could trust them.As privatehire says not all track scales weigh the same,i can remember for a while that the different between Henlow and Hove was 6 spots.
Well done if you are able to use official weights to make money ,i certainly cant so seldom bother with them.
Report privatehire September 5, 2019 4:56 PM BST
Yes rothman i was there. Great times for the kennel. All th el dogs. I didn,t take junior racing much. I did take him for his 2 ballyregan bob memorial victories.
Report privatehire September 5, 2019 5:05 PM BST
As long as theres greyhound racing in this country the numerical revord linda had 364 winners in a year imo will never be broken.
Report starship September 5, 2019 5:11 PM BST
when i was at hackney we weigh the dogs on race days.
if the dog was under, we gave it some food,
if it over we gave it something to empty.
me personally i never look at weights
Report wedge1 September 5, 2019 6:41 PM BST
still do not understand the importance attached to this subject
rothman mike if they weigh horses why they no publish the said
Report wondersobright September 5, 2019 7:05 PM BST
if horse weights were published, then for accuracy & integrity reasons it would need to be done at the races

ie BHA-led

...they simply don't have the resources
Report wedge1 September 5, 2019 7:08 PM BST
greyhound withdrawn weight variation?
