All eggs basically in one basket Wildcat but don't like the draw. Would have preferred him inside Expert. Looks like neck and neck crossing the line, unless bumping and boring doesn't scupper their chances beforehand, with Roxholme Glory coming across to join issue
Think we might see Verve in a much better light Friday with Desperado lacking middle phases, before staying on again
Hope Roxholme Jim qualifies and backed Clonbrien Prince for mate taking me down. Said Draper could get a better than expected tune out of Bull Run Button but this may prove a bridge too far. Heaven knows what mayhem Ballyanne Sim will cause from trap 5
Dower Rory ran a blinder and could give Skywalker Logan something to think about
Braveheart Bobby stayed better than expected and has draw advantage over Worseforwear. Still not sure about Jaytee Taylor, again
Queen Beyoncé could be booked for top bitch, at least and bids to get the better of improving Lemon Shane. Still not totally convinced about Lemon Express
Rooting for King Sheeran over can do better Ballymac Tas
If Droopys Davy starts in best style, might be a good buckle with Magical Bale

Last heat and Bale does look a good thing but short. 1 is interesting being kind, so 3-1 fc the way to go for me.

The reason why Notts is better than Sheffield is it isn't always on a turn. The straights are pretty good tbf. It's the bends that fooks everything up. Can't stand any race when the dogs are turning on the winning line. That should be a straight finish. Both these shoite tracks have this.
Graded dogs run far more frequently. Graded is the word. They will find theirs and all being equal any trap can win.
some boats on the inside to clear is always a good leveller

they want to put both dogs through but the difference between now and when it happened at wimbledon is previously there was a vacant trap so run off was cancelled and both went through whereas tonight it was a disqualification.....just heard both through under rule 90...

no.....only because the runner up in a run off is a reserve and there is already a space.....
not really Deptford......who would complain.....neither dog was eliminated......it is already in the rules....

DH for 3rd requires a run off or a coin flip to decide which of the 2 dogs qualifies
not sure i agree....both have filled a qualifying place......on the other point.....if the runner up is a reserve should a vacant trap become available in the next round but a trap is already available why have the run off both go through......the only difference tonight is both dogs are capable of getting any trap whereas.....should a vacant trap become available they would have to absorb that draw......

HGS you say Private made the post of the year but not necessarily so bookmakers the only enemy. In this day and age on the exchanges don't we back against each other too, or am I missing something?
Liked Colwick Park. Million times more modern than the old run down Plough Lane and great view of the dogs whizzing close by, unlike Towcester where you needed binoculars. Nice country backdrop anorl. Drawback, not mad busy but still nowhere to sit

The 4/1 Beyoncé/Bale double like finding money in the street, pair winning by an aggregate of nearly 10 lengths and the sp double only paying marginally over 13/8!

what should have happened is a coin should have been tossed to see who goes through to the 23 runner 1/4 finals and a motion to be made to amend the rules for if a situation like this occured again in the future for it to be settled like it was last night.

Daz, think the rule in question said the 4th home wouldn't be promoted in the event of one of the top 3 being disqualified

daz that would have happened if there was no vacancy.......however.....if you understand the rules......the dog who came fourth in the race with the disqualification cannot qualify for the next round so there was a vacancy........if two dead heated dogs race in a run off the loser stands as reserve for the next round only.....as there was a place available that would have been filled.....no need for a run off......i cant believe how anyone can make a case stating the end result was unfair.......as an aside....if a coin toss was chosen over a run-off then the loser does not become a reserve......

Why wouldn't a run off been possible, anyway?
Sure Rab would have taken it with his dog long odds on in a match, imo but both need to agree on a toss if that was going to be the solution

Sounds like they did exactly the right thing here, anytime common sense is used to defy a rule written in stone its proof that no matter how hard you try you cant write rules to cover every eventuality in greyhound racing, let alone life !
