Looking very likely now. As they were saying on RPGTV last night, two-dog race betting wise:

4/9 Notts
13/8 Central Park

Sponsor still to be found though, so not quite cut and dried

Oh, for those of you on mute, you would have missed it. Serves yourselves right! Laugh

Terrible viewing notts. Apparently talk of them erecting temporary stands. I,d prefer central park myself. Tho not ideal Avin to go over Dartford bridge that maybe y notts fav. I suppose if u asked me wer I wanted it to be I,d say newcastle.  Lots of alternative routes to get to track which is a plus. Who wants to go out for a drink in Sittingbourne or Nottingham for that matter. Fiver cab ride n it's tally ho Newcastle City centre. Loads of accommodation to hand. Wots not to like. Them southern softies Avin to drive 5 hours up the road after Avin it on tap for years.
Report Ravage Again November 21, 2018 10:37 AM GMT
Hardly any decent trainers left in the south anyways

Most are north of London and in the midlands and oor Ted in the north Cool

Was considering coach down, then train for Central Park (if well enough) with Sittingbourne not hard to get to that way apparently but Notts better personally, if I can get lifts off my doggie mate Happy. I'd never make the journey down and across to Notts on my own again! Sad

Rumours abound that nott,s avit. Apparently mark lowther the sponsor. It will be the telly for me then. As said on previous post the viewing is for #@¥%.

A bit like running the Epsom Derby at Brighton then.

No disrespect to Nottingham but until this years rescheduling on RPTV I wasn't aware that greyhounds existed at this place.
Report woodmanchester November 27, 2018 6:53 AM GMT
Private, you can still get 22/1 (boosted) Wildcat, same price as Verve

Waiting given me the option of the side-bet Wink

If King Turbo runs straight and true in the British Bred Derby etc, as he does these days, could it be a case of new track/new rule for the Derby?

Looks good value for his 28.54 (calc) trial sighter at the Sheffield track, Roxholme Nidge a 28.50 dog (as seen in Steel City)
Report woodmanchester November 28, 2018 4:33 PM GMT
16/1 best Wildcat now Happy
Report privatehire November 28, 2018 4:54 PM GMT
Thought as much.
Report woodmanchester November 28, 2018 5:14 PM GMT
Could have had more on at 22/1 but happy with my lot for the time being

Confirmation expected in next couple of days that the 2019 Derby will be at Nottingham. Temporary stands expected to be in place to deal with the viewing issues.
Report woodmanchester December 13, 2018 6:29 PM GMT
Confirmed now
Report woodmanchester December 14, 2018 9:37 AM GMT
Thought there might have been a few comments about this but seems nobody's interested?
Report woodmanchester December 14, 2018 9:39 AM GMT
Maybe about sponsorship/prize money or it being Wildcat's track?
Report woodmanchester December 16, 2018 9:25 AM GMT
Wonder if we'll get a May or June Derby this year?

Hope they don't take too long as my summer is planned around it

Just checked portfolio:

Good news  the derby is at a dog track next year  woody keep on posting  your  views
Report metro john December 16, 2018 11:31 AM GMT
They should move the Derby around various tracks yearly, yes not all tracks can hold a Derby not all want too? but why not that is the reality anyway? Monmore could but only 2000-2500 capacity but the tracks can sell gate tickets at say 30-50£ why not, I feel we should sell the grassroots tracks, the concept of having a Cheltenham like event becomes less appealing to me?
Report woodmanchester December 16, 2018 1:52 PM GMT
Cheltenham is Cheltenham Metro but with no flagship dog track now, wouldn't be opposed to the switcheroo

Think Notts only guaranteed next year anyway, then back to square one re-finding a permanent home for it

In the long run, only tracks remaining open could obviously play host

Some unconsidered tracks could then be in the running

When you consider highly praised past flapping Derbies held at places like Aldershot and Bolton, might not be all doom and gloom

King Turbo allowed to run in Derby
Report casemoney January 5, 2019 3:56 PM GMT
Not that Familuar with Notts , only occasionally if Opens but watched the Graded last Night Some railers losing Lenghts at the 3rd bend PlainPlain
Report Ravage Again January 5, 2019 4:31 PM GMT
Yes that's the only problem with the track that third bend

A lot of railers pull up

Maybe moving the inside rail slightly outwards to increase the curvature abit

Remember in the 1980 at Wimbledon about ten dogs just ran into the rail at the first bend

Solution was to paint the outside wall from white to green

Worked a treat

Something has to be done to fix it

Decision by Notts management

Does it mean a disqualified dog can run in Derby now or is it just a rule exception for King Turbo?
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y January 5, 2019 4:50 PM GMT
If a disqualified dog has completed it's clearing trials it can now run in the Derby.
Report wedge1 January 5, 2019 6:23 PM GMT
rule changes
unfortunately a year to late for king turbo
Report Winja January 5, 2019 7:53 PM GMT
i would not agree with that rule change and its a shame the pressure of allowing king turbo a place has forced it through......the rule was made to preserve bloodlines and even if a dog does complete its trials it is no guarantee the aggression will be removed.........a step backwards in my opinion.....

Report Ravage Again January 6, 2019 6:34 PM GMT
If a dog gets disqualified should not be allowed to run in derby

End of

Should introduce an appeal system 5 people at gbgb watch race and if at least 3 out of 5 say dot should not have been disqualified then it has 3 clearing trials to get back on the card

Only way an disqualified dog should be able to run
Report woodmanchester January 6, 2019 6:59 PM GMT
SP Recruit, Fatty

They withdraw a 12/1 and I lose 4/5 for about 8/15 SP

It's just not right!
