Answer is with the sportsbook here. Backed a dog. It gets withdrawn. A reserve comes in and loses. Queried with betfair but they said that settlement is correct and my non runner is a loser. Was only tiny bet so not worried about the cash just the principal. Beware of betting on the betfair sportsbook on dogs !!!

The dog was named. I have even shown betfair the screen shot of this. On their settlement they have changed the name from original runner to the name ofor the reserve and stated bets are put on trap numbers and names are only for guidance. That's why betting with the sportsbook is not good.

That is absolutely disgusting sharp practice, the dog originally named is/should be your selection and money back on a non runner. That's shameful behaviour.

So are we saying that, hypothetically, someone could have a couple of hundred on a 1-5 shot in an Open Race which is then withdrawn and replaced by a 100-1 poke. They’ve then got a couple of hundred on a complete no hoper? If that’s the case that, as Slippy says, is “shameful behaviour”...Just shows, though, how bookmakers view Greyhound Racing..........as a numbers game..

FWIW betfair pulled this stunt with me a couple of years ago at Hove for about £150 .Eventually after escalating the dispute i got a refund but that was only after i produced the pdf result sheet from the track which clearly stated that a reserve had run .Until that point they were happy to breach their own rules with their traders blindly deeming that no reserve had run when all the facts clearly showed that a reserve had run.

i have never been able to have a bet on the sportsbook as having paid the premium charge was instantly barred at inception but i thought starship must be wrong as sportsbook is their bookmaker alternative but feck me he is right with a double shaft in the event of a non-runner...….that is shocking......

8 Greyhound Racing
18.1 General
The following rules apply solely to online and mobile bets which are placed via the Betfair Sportsbook on greyhound racing. Separate rules apply to bets which are placed on the Betfair Exchange.
For greyhound racing markets, Best Odds Guaranteed is available to all new and existing Betfair customers unless we have informed any such customer, via email or otherwise, that Best Odds Guaranteed is no longer available to him\her.
Greyhound names are displayed on Betfair’s website for information purposes only and all bets will be settled on the basis of the trap numbers on which bets are placed.
Double result concessions do not apply to our greyhound racing markets.
Where a ‘no race’ is declared, all bets will be voided unless the ‘re-run’ race takes place on the same day (in which case all original bets will stand).
All bets will be settled on the basis of the official result declared on the day of the relevant race. If the official result is retrospectively changed, Betfair will not resettle the applicable markets.
In the event that no starting prices are returned for an individual race, all bets on that race will be declared void.
Where a greyhound is withdrawn from a race or replaced by an alternative (e.g. reserve) greyhound, all early price bets which were placed on the remaining greyhounds before the withdrawal or replacement will be settled at those greyhounds’ starting prices (while all bets placed following a withdrawal or replacement will be settled at the relevant greyhounds’ early prices).
Each way starting price bets will be accepted for unnamed favourites. All unnamed second favourites are win only and, therefore, no each way betting is available for them.

they get the benefit of the revised context but you are fecked…..cant be fair and must surely be challengeable under the unfair contracts law...….the bet is a contract....

Another reason why I would never back a dog more than 5 minutes before the off.
Rather than pinch a point or two hours before the off I prefer to know which dogs are actually running!
