I thought at first it was just a temporary software glitch at the Betfair end as there was no advance warning and they had/have left the greyhound form access'buttons'in place!
However I had an on-line chat with one of their Customer Support staff this afternoon and I am informed their greyhound form facility 'is no longer in use' by a decision made by Betfair.
If this is true my feeling is that not for the first time Betfair are seriously shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to their greyhound service. In this instance in my view they have people deciding on changes who lack the insight to appreciate what is required to further benefit Betfair's commission generation from greyhound racing. The matter that this has it appears happened within a publicly quoted Group I find it difficult to get my head around.
Added to serious recent problems I had experienced in trying to access their streamed videos of races, 2018 does not bode well for the future of the Betfair greyhound service.
This comes on top of the painful fall-out from the beginning of year re-organisation of the greyhound service to betting shops.
As I suspect you know the BAGS website was until the end of last year excellent in terms of having all the main track full racecards in place for those daytime meetings that had constistently decent exchange markets.
Now however the BAGS website only cover tracks that personally I have lesser trust in as to how form per racecard translates into results relative to those that have it appears broken away from BAGS.
Crayford's 8 line racecard that used to be on the BAGS w/s for each meeting is in my view the best racecard I have seen, but other than their Saturday night meetings the only way it appears you can now obtain it is by going to the track, you can't even access it from the track's own website. It appears at best you have to make do with the 'Racing post' cut down '5 form line' version.
Go to the track and even if you can get a bet on with a bookmaker and you back other than literally just before the off and the price of your bet goes out you do not not get the higher price the large high street and online Bookemakers will pay out on - how does that encourage punters to attend greyhound tracks?
Well that's my rants poised at this point as to the further depressing state of play as to the apparently ever-declining greyhound scene.
I think I'll give it a couple of months break to see if things settle down with the hope that in due course the new greyhound to betting shops service might get in gear on the Internet front as to formcards or maybe Ladbrokes or a new exchange entrant might have something further to add to the current mix.
Such is life.

Disappointing. If it's true that the service is no longer available betfair will suffer from a loss of commission. Many punters place dog bets to fill the gaps between horse races but need to see a form card. When you only have a couple of minutes to make a selection you need a quick access to form - punters wont bother to load up the RP form and therefore decide to give the race a miss...

Serves them right as they pay nothing into Greyhound Racing.

Spot on Daz7, time availabe to obtain and study form is major importance to regular punters without whom their wouldn't be a betting industry.
It appears the Betfair customer support worker who I addressed the matter to via their on-line chat service was either mistaken or gave the wrong impression in the language of her reponse which clearly stated that the form withdrawal was a result of a decision taken by Betfair and in response to my question is this permanent informed me 'this currently isn't subject to change'.
Good news indeed that they have the racing form facility reinstated.
