Did I hear they are adding an astro turf Border to the Track ? in order to stop dogs running Off ??

Towcester racing manager, has said the Derby distance will remain at 500m, with plans in place to put astroturf on the outside of the bends to encourage runners not to move off, a move he says is overwhelmingly supported by the track’s trainers.

Are these the same trainers that said there was owt wrong with the Track ?

Entries restricted to 192  , any extras will be reserves , £350 to enter not cheap Spec if you add travel costs etc ..

Be interesting to see a few trials with the astro on bends hopefully will have the desired outcome ,Fingers Crossed, would
be good to have something to look forward to Derby wise Happy

i think towcesters main problem is the wide runners heading inside not going wider, indian file down on the rails, strangest track ever
By:

When: 10 Jan 18 14:47
you can see it garry
I can see it
plenty other people on here can see it

so why the fck cant they???

the inside rail needs extending outwards to the conventional wide racing line
the track is so wide its almost like all the dogs have worked out they need to rail
what a crazy gaff

what a shame it is,anyone with no blinkers on knows what the tracks like ,why dont they just sort it correctly without trying this and that which wont make any difference, the number 1 problem is what i said earlier ,if they address that then maybe they can get a half decent track,i wish them every success but sort that track out as its a terrible layout for dogs to run

But we were led to Believe that the Vast Majority of Trainers had no Problem with the Track ??

"overwhelmingly supported by the track’s trainers"

So which is it they do or they Don't ??

The problem with this Sport is the Amount of Old flange that people in a Position to Do so Speak .

With the Astro ?

Will soon be approaching before we know it and so wide open despite top quality, very fast English dogs being aimed at it

The market goes 25/1 the field, that's Bruisers/Expert/Nidge and 50/1 bar five

The Irish to have their weakest year ever and not so sure too much will be coming through under the radar, so ideal time to take a good, hard study

Happy with my team and just wondering what might have been with Woo Hoo. If he hadn't had setbacks, wouldn't be 80/1

How's sticking some astro  turf on the outside hare rail going to achieve anything ffs

Unless going to stick some astro turf on the dogs paws then at least the ultra wides will be disincouraged and will get stuck if running silly wide

News is, after serious injury, Clares Rocket is galloping rapidly and being aimed at the English Derby! Shocked

Best price now 50/1

Looking like it's 33/1 each of 5 the field now. Never known betting for the Derby like it at this stage. Now's the time to weigh in on your fancy! Wink

Put a bullet in your ante-post scattergun woody, in readiness for him being listed for Towcester, for Skywalker Tuco, who looks a star already, even though only a pup, at Clonmel.

Creeping ever closer. Already stated my main 3. Others to watch out for Hiya Butt, Droopys Woo Hoo, King Kid and Good News, if he comes over?

Loose change 160/1 King Kid each-way with Laddies price boost. He ran Dorotas Wildcat very close over c/d once and could sneak through. Huge odds for a bit of place money anyway

As i said on another thread for the first time in 45 yrs i didnt av an ante post on derby last year. After watching trial stakes for monmore puppy derby last night it just confirmed what i already thought that droopys verve was a pup out of the top drawer. Took the 50,s with the sponsors betfred and ladbrokes. I dont think i will be betting anything else. May top up as we go. Whatever beats this pup at monmore will be a real dog.

Good luck!

Word of warning Private. Some trainers don't risk their pups in the Derby (baptism of fire). Youngsters often go for it after the Juvenile

When: 24 Feb 18 11:12
Just guessing i dont know wot plans are. He will do monmore puppy derby trainers championship then on to derby. He wont have much experience but think he,s quick enough. No point in waiting till nxt year. Quick enough put him in.
