My sentiments exactly woody. If u look at there facebook page. Sensational renewal quote unquote. If thats the entry they gona get. I wonder if mr fahy will continue to sponsor. That,d be my worry.
Report FATTIEWHITEYSLOVEADRINK October 26, 2017 11:24 PM BST
On paper it looks very grim indeed
But you never know
Might be few super stars ready to be unleashed
Rd the oval !!
Report woodmanchester October 26, 2017 11:43 PM BST
Maybe just no pups with top class potential. Makes it look bleak for the sport, imo
Report woodmanchester October 26, 2017 11:53 PM BST
Havent they been breeding any pups with classical potential, or something?
Report woodmanchester October 27, 2017 12:40 AM BST
Got a short-list of four. Waiting for betting, anyway
Report woodmanchester October 27, 2017 8:07 PM BST
Think Hills boobed with 14/1 Magical Bale, unless they know something. He's one of the few in the competition looking to have some potential and running Dorotas Wildcat to just over 2 lengths in a sprint trial here augurs well. Shows he has the speed to make his mark

Roxholme Poppy is your ante-post fav and could mature into a useful performer but we've seen widish runners struggle before round these contours, so side-bet is 14/1 Russanda Ripley. More experience than most, nippy on his day and could go deep

Forest Mike appears fast but not sure he'll get home, like Prize Fighter

Some dogs have already showed signs of 'greenness', so Lightfoot King/Nippy Pippy could be best avoided
Report irishone October 27, 2017 11:06 PM BST
tis bad for the game
why shuld p j keep sponsoring ?
hes cut his numbers
suffered ill health
still puts up this prize
....and look at the response
....pathetic !

Well after the disaster that was the derby what would expect

Takes some track to make

Sonic
Droopys Buick
And even clares rocket looked paceless on the run up sometimes

Irish trainers ain't turned up
Wright ain't turned up with any of the droopys dogs

Afraid the only time will get a decent enter in future will be the derby and the oaks

As owners no other option

Why ruin a pup running around that track

Savva trying with his A7 henlow plodders

Looks three decent dogs all in the last
Report LoyalHoncho October 28, 2017 12:21 AM BST
The bitterness which prevails about Towcester is simply unbelievable.
Report Ravage Again October 28, 2017 12:30 AM BST
Well I just speak the truth and tell it how it is

Dig the track up and start again

Base it on Coventry 490 m or Newcastle 500 m trip

And normal width for 6 dogs

Sorted

Continue with current track and I guess people like you LH stick head in the sand and pretend everythinks ok

Good news is if the stick your head in the Towcestor sand the dogs will run around you as the tracks so fing wide

BITTERNESS Laugh it can be bigged up as much as they Want , IT IS THE TOWCESTER GREYHOUND

DERBY or PUPPY DERBY ..

Unlike any other Derby's that have been run before  , AS the " TOWCESTER DERBY " all concerned do a fantastic Job .....

accepting it for what it is one cannot be bitter .. BUT THEY ARE DERBY'S UNLIKE ANY OTHER I HAVE SEEN BEFORE, ROUND A TRACK

THAT SADLY DOES NOT APPEAR TO SUIT A HIGH % OF ENTRANTS ,NO POINT IN MOANING, IT IS WHAT IT IS, AND REFLECTS THE DISGRACEFUL

STATE OUR SPORT HAS ENDED UP IN ... Hopefully there are some decent pups entered who may improve ,Time progression over the

rounds will be interesting as dogs adapt ,if that happens.. Hope it turns out to be a Decent Event ,for all concerned Happy
Report woodmanchester October 28, 2017 1:41 PM BST
Think Mid Term Break and Innocent Times both short enough at 6/4 apiece. In the first instance, little bet 3/1 Brinkleys Ranger and in the second, 11/4 Forest Mike may just hold on from Queen Borneo

Russanda Ripley should do the job as long as Nippy Pippy doesn't ruin the race. 7/2 double Ripley with Magical Bale, only real bet

Only one other little bet, 11/2 Iceni Queen coz don't fancy Sporting Dave at odds-on
Report Ravage Again October 28, 2017 3:21 PM BST
I have to admit considering its 20 grand to the winner and the amount of Irish dogs that ran in the derby

I did think this comp would have got loads of Irish entries
Report LoyalHoncho October 29, 2017 1:18 AM BST
I agree the track is inferior to what we wanted but it is what it is.  The rest of it is fantastic.  Ask JP Fahy and six time champion trainers.  Next you'll all be telling the Jockey Club to take the Derby away from Epsom because it isn't Ascot!
Report woodmanchester October 29, 2017 1:21 AM BST
Oi Oi the only proper bet, the double (two ante-post dogs) at 7/2! Grin

Said Mid Term and Innocent too short and so it proved

Fancied Mike to hold Borneo in the context of the race and that was spot. Fighter lasted home but thought might not quite make it

Thought Kev did well

Still no antepost market for this Cat 1 event. Is there no interest in this or in antepost dog racing in general?
Report woodmanchester November 2, 2017 10:43 AM GMT
No idea what youre talking about, Billy
Report Billy Bigbelly November 2, 2017 11:25 AM GMT
Talking about no antepost market for this Cat 1 event (Puppy Derby) and no interest in this or in antepost dog racing in general ON THE BETFAIR EXCHANGE.
Report woodmanchester November 2, 2017 12:28 PM GMT
I see. There's always Sportsbook and all the tother firms. There's a Leger market exchanges but not properly formed yet
Report woodmanchester November 4, 2017 6:12 PM GMT
Wouldn't swop 14/1 Magical Bale but asking a fair bit for tother smaller bet same price Russanda Ripley to both qualify same semi. Fingers crossed

Sporting Dave is the interesting one. Had a very small each-way bet Romford Puppy Cup. Looked decent but nowhere near the Roxholme Nidge standard. However, appears to have improved dramatically since, so the yardstick might be somewhere inbetween, making him terrible short tonight
Report woodmanchester November 4, 2017 8:45 PM GMT
Bale went to the bend in best style but couldn't hold pitch and only fourth back straight. Kept on to qualify a close up third behind Innocent Times and Headford Kev
Report casemoney November 4, 2017 9:34 PM GMT
newcastle puppy event different class imo
Report woodmanchester November 11, 2017 1:08 AM GMT
Really want Magical Bale antepost but had to have an 11/2 side-bet Wuheida. Semis all very competitive stuff but will take some holding with repeats of her 29.28s. Bitches no stranger to success in Puppy Derbies. Goes in the second semi

In the first semi, 7/2 Roxholme Poppy looks fair. Good final likely but doubt anything exceptional

Due to be away next Wednesday anyway
Report woodmanchester November 11, 2017 9:04 PM GMT
Not a fan of wide runners at Towcester but Poppy may have the gears to come through late

Worse supporting card in Sky's history Plain

As for the British Bred Derby on Tuesday ,Dear me Plain
Report woodmanchester November 12, 2017 2:43 PM GMT
Yeah, Towcester card not that hot but think the King dogs and Candlelight just about as good as British breeding gets
Report woodmanchester November 14, 2017 11:02 AM GMT
Done the card. Got my eye on a few but no great shakes

Case said worst card in Sky history but some reasonable dogs going to traps. Seen worse myself, anyway

Can’t find a bet
Don’t know many of the dogs truly shocking card
Lucky there beer
Report LoyalHoncho November 14, 2017 11:49 AM GMT
What makes a card?  Quality of dog or betting opportunities?
Report woodmanchester November 14, 2017 11:53 AM GMT
Well, you got the National Sprint winner in a good looking two-bender, Kent Derby winner on parade and suggesting keep an eye on Barricane Tommy and Drumkeen Oyster Wink

Have fun! Grin

Quality for me Honcho. Cant beat a good sense of occasion. If I want betting opportunities, can go Vue Sunday morning Plain

At the bags.  You have to be kidding?!
Report woodmanchester November 14, 2017 5:54 PM GMT
That's where many feel they have an edge if they can bet to roughly 100% over-round on here. Personally, I find BAGS dogs inconsistent but the regulars will swear blind they make profit

Bombers Bullet came on a bit too.
Well done if you were on!

Report privatehire November 15, 2017 9:21 PM GMT
Well done woody. Typical pups. Did u watch the behind the box shot. Dont think any of m went in straight line. Winner head n shoulders above the others in my book.
Report woodmanchester November 15, 2017 9:33 PM GMT
Seems so, we saw dogs veering about in the Derby over that c/d

Bale nipped out but beaten by Innocent Times and kennelmate Headford Kev first round but come on since then, stays!
