Super card with highlight the re-match between Droopys Buick and Bubbly Bluebird. The pair met in the Eclipse final where Buick won and Bluebird finished third after not getting the rub of the green. Got 20/1 Bluebird and 40/1 Buick for the Derby already and hope both run big races

7.11 Wouldn't be surprised if Slippery Amigo gives Calco Flyer a race, especially over the 500m trip

7.26 Fond of sprinter Jumeirah Maximus and I've currently caught him on a roll. Faces Ela Ela Genie again, Toolmaker Rambo and Droopys Trapeze

7.43 Think Dorotas Wildcat might reverse the form with his recent conqueror the fast Madabout Eoghan

7.59 Rubys Rascal will appreciate the drop back in distance

8.16 Droopys Five may get the better of Brinkleys King with Droopys Who struggled to fulfil potential

8.33 In-form Empress Katie a token pick

8.51 Keen on Huarache Madison

9.08 The Big One!

Away but hoping to get a signal and tune in to watch

Good luck!

No takers. Woody's tissue, then:

10/11 Bluebird
11/10 Buick
12/1 Falcon
16/1 Astute
16/1 Velvet
33/1 Razzle

About 122% over-round

tomorrow will be interesting viewing, could give quite a few dogs drawn 5 & 6 chances in the televised races yet keep reading those drawn wide are at a huge disadvantage

After ditching Romford graded Iv been following the Towcester scene for about 6 weeks now, from monitoring closely wide winners can win , but , there's a massive BUT ! If the dog runs the typical WIDE route of a track , as in 1 foot from the hare rail it won't win at Towcester , and I mean never .... however if the dog drives the bends by a maximum of 8 feet from the inside rail it has the same chance as the rest , more so over the 500meter distance and CAN either win from the front or come off the pace. So typically with a wide runner at the gaf it needs to either clear the inside dogs to the first bend or just simply stay out of trouble.

Also here's another tip ...... 70% of dogs come stuck on the final bend , this is due to being stuck behind a tight railer , so if you punt a dog at the track watch a trial or past race so you can see how the dog takes the last bend as because the bends are so long most dogs are drawn to the inside and in this situation where you have a leading railer the outside trap dogs are stuffed because they just fight for there space on the inside and in effect throw the race away.

The final thing is check the going as this is very inconsistent due to their drainage problem , seen many meetings where dogs lead they win and then next thing the dogs don't stay because the ground is saturated and the staying dogs have a massive advantage.

Hope this helps as just trying to help out .

This is exactly how a wide runner needs to run the track. Anything other than this is useless.

good post MH

I wouldn't read too much into the graded racing at the gaff...of course dogs are going to win on the wide and from off the back and they are going to do this in opens as well

that's not the point people like me and others have made

the problem is that its a track that is too strongly weighted in favour of railers and front runners when no grading has taken place, way above from what I would expect from a derby standard track

I agree with you re their drainage as well

i think you are going a bit overboard on the wide runner thing money hungry, you need to look at every race individually and work out what the race should be run like and what you think will win.i have backed plenty of wide runners at towcester that have won ,plus having the previous races all recorded makes life a whole lot easier when you are betting as you can see all previous races,
By:

My point with the wide runner theory is that Towcester wide runners aren't the typical wide runners you'd see at any other track because they are far from that remark. That's all I were trying to explain. But yeah there is a bias towards the inside , massive bias at that ! And anything typically quick away on the rails should be favourit just on that form alone.

Just got to get your head buried in YouTube playbacks  , their format on there is pretty awesome to be honest.

it defo favours an  inside ep type but you still got to read every race on its merits and not just think the outside cant win,but as wonders was saying its going to be totally different with the open race runners compared to the graded,
By:

Defo agree with your comment Wonders about not comparing graded form of the track with open class , can't get more different but you gotta start with the bottom first ;)

Yes Garry I agree , it's still the same game obviously and just as head scratching as any othe gaf

what i would say about towcester is if you are last early doors in a race  you have probably got the worst chance at towcester than any other as at the back some of the dogs look like they are not fully chasing
By:
wondersobright
When: 27 Mar 17 22:25
I haven't got stats to back that up garry but I would say that's 100% spot on as the greater the ratio of bends to straights in a track, the less the back dog sees of the hare so makes perfect sense what you are saying

would put sheffield in a similar bracket
By:
garryc
When: 27 Mar 17 22:31
yea wonders they are similar sheffield and towcester in that  way ,only difference is you can land an aeroplane on the towcester straights as they are too wide ,you just need to see how a wide runner while run the track cause if you bet blind round there you are a million

Interesting posts, Wallis on the draw would have to be fav and can see Jimmy Wright as only danager

the 1st 3 races key for Wallis I think he will win 1 or 2 or and or finish 2nd, the puppy is interesting Kingdom Legend.

will all be down to placings that will win this as it looks fairly spread for the winners but wallis and wright have the place draws RAILS IN THEM 500METER races and the sprint don't feel the 6 bends is as much as an advantage

I've read the story and to me it seems a nothing story, all he will do now is put all the dogs in Angela's name (trainer) and take out a kennelhand license and it's pretty much business as usual?

By no means saying it's right what's happened.

The big story was when he got the bullet from Newcastle for withdrawing his dogs when he was not happy over the state of the track.

And just how did Jimmy expect Newcastle to respond to his action that night?  They weren't exactly going to send him a thank you note were they?  Huge misjudgement on his part which I bet he bitterly regrets.
