Somebody had their betfair exchange account closed because they backed a winner ?

E Mail said race had suspicious betting patterns & funds would be frozen until a full investigation is complete. The person who's account was closed won a monkey on the race. Thread was to see if anyone else had been closed because of this race & how much they took out. £500 hardly seems like someone with a goldmine of inside info.

I heard it was Woody,he knows how to get matched after the race is over.Good that they have finally caught up with him.

Seems strange to have an account closed for backing a winner? Laying a loser,yes,but,backing a winner can't be right?

Twitter account was a user called Goobledygook29 post of October 26th. Did have a photo of an e mail with betfair on there but now taken down & with no one on here suffering the same fate I am beginning to doubt its true myself.

Think he was on about sports book bets not exchange. As in he's been restricted

"No exchange account. Won a monkey on a race last week and they froze the money and permanently suspended the acc"

That's a quote from the post as I initially assumed he meant sportsbook but seems that's not the case.

Certainly a worry for anyone who can't get on anywhere else (AKA Anyone with half a clue)

Will be keeping an eye on the local inquiries / GBGB disciplinary reports to see if anything crops up from the race in question. Worrying trend if the off course boys have taken a slap & cried foul. Don't do hall green so unsure if anyone didn't get paid in the shops & lack of people (Anyone else) saying this has effected them means it might well be rubbish. Really don't know.

I'm sure that if there had been a stink about the result then the Press would have got hold of it by now

Maybe the freezing of funds is a result of something else, poss a KYC issue?

might get a mention in Muttleys column but doubt the story exists in the way that the OP describes
