Its not often you can agree with Jim Cremin but he was spot on here .......

"the Greyhound Trainers’ Association submission to the Efra committee was hardly pro-greyhound racing, so is it any surprise the GBGB power brokers felt there was an element of the enemy within?

But those same power brokers have to bear an element of responsibility as they can seem aloof, arrogant and out-of-touch."

I'd say Cremin has been brought to book .... Another personal attack on Holloway and the GTA in the RP today ....

"guerrilla tactics of the Greyhound Trainers’ Association"

"Holloway’s regime has managed the exact opposite. Yes he has passion, and the way he stands up for hurdling is a joy, but there is a destructive edge."

"It’s the Chelsea Glass GTA Trainers Championship on Tuesday but might it be re-named an HTA event – the Hobby Trainers’ Association?"

"Kelly deserves our respect and support"  today...... "aloof, arrogant and out-of-touch" last week ?

In my nearly 50 years of doggies, mostly independent with some NGRC spells, I can't recall any time when I ever believed otherwise about the upper echelons of the sport. I much preferred flapping and always thought the BGB, or whatever abbreviation was current, were mostly in it for themselves. Not much has changed, sadly.

Well they are in Trouble Now ,How do they get out of this? when one of the most respected People in the sport wants a place on the Board and an Audit to boot. Before  the AUDIT lets Hope Linda asks about the Rent they have been paying in the City of London ,and lets them now they are WXNKERS not BANKERS ,the sport is in turmoil with what appears to be No confidence in its Governing Body ,except of course from most quarters of the RP JOURNALISTS ,should also have a good look at why these YES MEN are so intent on keeping things as they are ....

You need to learn to get your feelings out Irish.......don't hold back so muchLaugh

I don't think Jim Cremin is quite that bad, if one considers he is employed by the RP, he has his living to think of.

Linda Jones has requested an independent forensic audit of the GBGB, she is a respected figure in Greyhound Racing.

I hope the GBGB take this on board. I do not want to see Greyhound Racing destroyed but in my experience if things are hidden

they come out anyway and it is far worse.

The audit could look at how money  could be saved as well...the biggest problem for this sport is LACK OF MONEY

there are no streets paved with gold nowadays

If somebody does not make money out of greyhound racing it is finished, although I support a fairer distribution of this.

I would like Linda Jones to mediate between the GBGB and **** before we reach the fisticuff stage.

I was holding back Gerry.

If Jim Cremin was thinking about his living he would not be ducking and diving between the GTA and the GBGB , its the sport of greyhound racing that he owes his living to , not to the various organisations that exist within it.

Jones reiterates call for ‘forensic audit’ of GBGB
LINDA JONES, who has been nominated to replace the unseated Rick Holloway as a GBGB director, reiterated the GTA stance in seeking a ‘forensic audit’ of the board at Tuesday’s meeting.

A former winner of the Trainers’ Championship and acting chairwoman of the GTA, Jones said: “We need to know where the money goes, why has the Fund dropped from £14m to £7m . . . the Deloitte report said £237m [was bet on greyhounds].

“We want the welfare to be absolute top of the agenda, we want welfare for all the trainers, the kennelstaff and the owners, and I think we deserve it because we put so much into it.”

Sittingbourne promoter Roger Cearns said: “Rick Holloway and Tom Kelly, or their representatives, have to engage in diplomacy. It’s as simple as that.”

Kelly, the GBGB chairman, is currently away and is expected to return next week to consider Jones’s nomination. The next GBGB board meeting is on March 24.

Laugh

Jim Cremin may owe his living to greyhound racing, but is paid by the RP.

The Deloitte report...how does that impressive sounding gross profit translate into net profit?

Greyhound Racing is on the decline, it is not too hard to see that, it remains as ever a collection of individual track owners.

I support the forensic audit, I support Linda Jones. I don't know the answer, I just want some greyhound racing to bet on.

RH is a lovely man with loads of fire, passion and emotion...and I think his cause is right

But he has one big handicap himself, he is nearly impossible at times for any one to deal with

In fact people often wonder what his motives are really, it is very sad

I hope Linda fights his cause for him

I see the forensic audit more a chance to clean the decks, rather than a witch hunt, which rarely help

Anyway let us hope so?

5 Mar 2016 — 5th March 2016 - GBGB issue legal letters Racing Post Article

Mr Kelly is wrong in calling 28th January meeting an "illegal demonstration". The City of London Police were present and were complimentary of the expression of those people present. For him to say staff and Directors were feaful for their safety is a misrepresentation/farcical, as video shows. Either the article is another gross misrepresentation or it's a mis-print and Mr Kelly was actually referring to the abuse and sexual swear words shouted by Mr John Curran, GBGB Dirrector - the only person to swear on that day. We agree with Mr Kelly this is "simply unacceptable behaviour"

JOE SCANLON, chairman of the British Greyhound Racing Fund, on Wednesday said he anticipated significant progress during the year “as discussions between greyhound racing and the betting industry intensify”.....Scanlon viewed demands from the GTA for a ‘forensic audit’ as “criticism from a minority of activists”. He said: “The Fund is independently audited each and every year by specialist auditors who operate in the charity/sporting sector [Haysmacintyre]

Haysmacintyre , a company that recently downsized and possesses "a relatively young workforce. The firm brings in 18 grads a year, and 40% of its partners are below 45 years-old" .
