Bookies taking a pounding. What a myth , wish I had a pound for every time I heard that. Funny how 99% of the time they keep going back to the well , funny how the same names that were there in my childhood some 40 years ago still haunt the streets of the big cities. Just because a few favourites win doesn't mean they took a pounding. The art of laying a book is all about making a few bob whatever wins and now days if there is a loser potentially on their books they usually turn at the last minute to the holy grail on the laptop.
