Managed to turn things around with Champagne/Babooshka and looking good antepost, although would have liked Tyrur Caroline in my team

Tyrur Supermac produced a rapid 27.34calc in preparation for the Laurels. General Sherman, Roxholme Barkley and Blue Moment also pretty speedy

Laurels

Best I can see so far:

8/1 Supermac
10/1 Rebel
12/1 Barkley
14/1 Kerry
14/1 Bigmans
14/1 Blue
16/1 Gravy
16/1 Whitey
16/1 Scolari
16/1 Loose
20/1 Bar

Giving a chance to a couple not quoted there Wink

8/1 Tyrur Supermac on the strength of one good trial where the -60 going was clearly out of Billy Liar's book of Terminalogical Inexactitudes.

I don't ferkin think so.Shocked
Report woodmanchester November 26, 2015 6:25 PM GMT
First run in 1930, the Laurels is steeped with history and it's a crying shame demoted to Cat Two these days. Draper has won 3 of the last 7 runnings with Boherna Best, Eden Star and Farloe Warhawk, but not represented this time around

Yes Miss Wales, Supermac trialled very quickly recently at Nottingham, but went out like a light in the Eclipse to my expense anyway. You've got to ask yourself what else is there really. General Sherman another quick enough to win a Laurels but gets behind then doesn't produce his running. Maybe a little each-way risk at 33/1 okay though.

The Coolavanny Rebel I knew should be nowhere near 10/1, much much larger. Respect the Roxholme pair but fancy McGee's speedy 20/1 hope Hillcroft Hero. Don't give his other runner any chance whatsoever. Lister's got some greyhounds coming through now, like Tyrur Caroline in the Oaks and Bigmans Kid could fare well at 14/1, as could smart but enigmatic same price Blue Moment, finalist last year. If there was specials betting, what price Lister to win the Laurels? (Won it last year with Jordans Brianna)

Derby runner-up 25/1 Tynwald Bish could put best foot forward round here and worth keeping an eye on. Wouldn't totally rule out Cat One winner 20/1 Swift Keith. If youre looking for a huge outsider each-way 50/1 Johns Present could fit the bill in a wide open competition

My main two for starters Hillcroft Hero and General Sherman, but not ideal drawn together in first heat

Good luck!

well all the 40s has dried up Cool but chaotic linda @ 33s.....ok she has a right quirk but shes proven in the very top class of bitches(see monmore earlier in the year),she looked in good nick the other night, she has a decent draw with a middle straights early pacer drawn outside her this round which gives her scope to qualify, theres a lot of bitches in front of her in the market who quite simply arent as fast as shes capable of and arent as draw resistant either, bet linda at 33s ew.

Woody

Please don't waste your money on General Sherman. He's won one race in his life. Lightning fast in trials but hopeless in company. He's a bit like Kolo Toure - he only gets a gig because his brother's a great player.

Even Julie B says Belle Vue is not the General's track, yet it's the only place he's run in the last 4 months. What she really means is racing's not his game.
Report woodmanchester November 27, 2015 11:41 AM GMT
Yes Wales, Sherman extremely frustrating but may produce the goods when it matters, one day. You say no way Supermac's trial was on .60 slow but even at half that allowance, quick enough to land that race tonight. Done him on 4/1 treble with bankers Twilight and Caroline as biggest bet of the night. Twilight ought to improve but even so, not sure she would defy Caroline if they both reach the final. Thought Lister's bitch showed scintillating pace up last week and looks a star in the making

Only other two smaller bets 11/4 Bigmans Kid and 9/2 Tynwald Bish

Barkley is certainly backable at 7/4, but got enough interest antepost in the opening heat of the Laurels already

Good luck!

Luckless recently. Both 2/5 Jet Stream Trail (stopped at every turn) and Evs Twilight have let me down for good trebles past few days Sad

Got an each-way outsider in mind Oaks and going to top up another

Laurels, might add a couple of covers. Will let you know when I'm on
Report woodmanchester December 2, 2015 12:50 PM GMT
Nothing clever saying the top pair look the ones to beat in the Laurels and although the going got fractionally slower throughout the night if anything, Roxholme Barkley was still quickest and think 6/1 fair enough, having avoided Supermac in the semis. Still biggest payout Hillcroft Hero, though

In the Oaks, thought 20/1 Bromwich Sue worth a little each-way interest. A finalist last year and fourth quickest last Friday, despite not the very best of runs, she could get the place money

Good luck!

Ballymac Ricky @ 10s will do for me in the Laurels final, slightly disappointed he didn't lead Blakes Turbo around in the semi final but had he been drawn inside him as tonight he would have, he needs a good start to hold whitey to the corner but he has his box and he has a ping in him, he leads around and he has a serious chance
