can you do that with any dog, it would be a great way for laying it

Used to have a dog that ran graded at Milton Keynes who would turn 180 in the trap every time - always put him in backwards.
With the camera behind the trap for BAGS, I often thought about how punters betting him in the shop would react when they saw it. |

I guess that would be enough to tip you over the edge!
You've picked loser after loser & you have 1 last bet to get you out of it, then you see it being put in back to front! ![]() ![]() |

Anyone remember a dog called Concentration who was trained by Ger McKenna and won the Laurels in 1990. He was eliminated from the 1991 english derby after turning in the trap.

You've picked loser after loser & you have 1 last bet to get you out of it, then you see it being put in back to front! CryCrazy Ronalthough not as bad as when he is put in the right way round, but when the traps he is facing the wrong way the worse way to lose our money tit ![]() |

that is the one GKO
![]() never seen that myself before either...the starter gave his trap a good long look to see he had turned before waving his flag |

I've seen it done before. & as daveg above says it would certainly be frowned upon from a spectator viewing.
In this day and age (laying) there's gotta be a bit of a question mark over doing it in a race! it could be open to all sorts of abuse, i wonder what the rules clearly are on this. id imagine they'd have a riot on there hands in shops if it goes in backwards & when the traps open your left looking at the dogs @rse with your betting slip in your hand |
|
By:
No Ron last time it was on bags in the shops the commentator highlighted the fact it was always put in backwards
|
|
By:
Chris Allsopp used to have a decent sprinter that was always put in backwards.
|
|
By:
There have been a few in the past that were always put in backwards.

By:
& when the traps open your left looking at the dogs @rse with your bettingslip in your hand
Looking at its form that happened on the 11 June...I assume he was put in the right way round then????????????? They gave him a trial on the 15 June probably the wrong way round?.. so would guess that is when they decided to put him in the wrong way round always I am sure there were Sparrow |
|
By:
It is when they decide to lie on their back we should start worrying
They would then have to be put in upside down ![]() ![]() |

Quite an appropriate name, Close The Gate

Backed plenty that have run backwards.

Jerry Fisher used to have a super little dog (only 26-27 kilos) called Aglish Poacher who had to be placed in the traps backward otherwise he would turn the wrong way when the traps opened. Cracking dog won the Wood Lane Stakes at White City. owned by Brian Smith, I think.

Dogs develop funny habits, this is one of them
But better to spot it, even if they have to go in backwards Nothing worse than backing a dog and when the traps open, find it has turned round We do our money without a fair run ![]() |
