Just shows what can be done by promoters who want to invest and care for the sport. Build it and they will come. Bookmakers keeping the sport on life support and the GRA investors asset stripping are the problem

By:
but they still got a s..t circuit
By:
Exactly.....people plod along excepting the cost cutting crap from bookmaker tracks and think they are doing us a favour keeping the game alive. When you actually go along and see how to do it properly you realise how we are being sold short with the crap they serve up and insult the paying customer......special mention to Hitler....the foreign manageress in the Romford restaurant who is single handidly killing the place!
By:
....i thought that but if you take time to go along then you will see that it is far better than most. Rather have a bend like Sunderland or Crayford would you?......far to many housebound and bedridden comments on here. See it in real life then comment....i jumped the gun as usual and can now confirm it is better than most pi ssholes out there!

sunderland and peterborough kinsley i also dislike there circuits
By:
its all opinions some will agree some will disagree its called opinions
By:
...yes it is about opinions....i have now been to the track and made an informed opinion rather than on t.v......you are calling it a s hit circuit from your rocking chair!

I have been there, and yes its a really good night out but the configuration of the track prevents it from being the perfect greyhound experience. There is no way that you could have the greyhound derby there with the lay out of the track the way it is, which is a real shame because in every other aspect it would be an ideal place for the biggest race in the greyhound calender. Having said that i could understand people preferring to see the derby in a stadium location

Wimbledon is a fine circuit but obviously needs proper facilities. The idea of running the Derby at Towcester with that location and circuit is ridiculous.
By:
Moving the Derby from White City to Wimbledon was ricdiculous!!
Wimbledon to Towcester not as. |
By:
Where would you have moved it to after White City closed?
By:
The Stow as it was my local track!!
Wembley even - anywhere that wasn't a GRA track!! |
By:
Well I have to agree about the GRA who have done untold damage to Greyhound Racing including my old local track Clapton as well.
But I do think Wimbledon is a very fair circuit and really hope it can survive. |
By:
Agreed - My fav track of all time was Harringay - GRA killed the place.
By:
I used to go to Harringay on Mondays and Fridays in the 60s. I can even remember when they banked the bends there. 525 and 700 yards if I remember rightly and some 600 yard races starting on the bend.

Interesting to read 4 books inside and 2 in the ring, bet they weren't different books, would be interested to hear who they were ( I suspect "someone" had 2 indoors, and 2 slave computers outside!)
