Had 50 on a dog on Saturday in 8 dog race, pleased to say it won, but returned 4/5 in a 161% s.p.return.

Not much value there, should have backed it on the tote.

imo, SPs should be a matter of regulation by the government to ensure punters are protected. (As should the obscenely high, on track t0te retentions for that matter)

For the computer straight forecast, whether the overround is 130% or 250%, the returns are factored back to a set percentage. (Unlike the chart forecasts, where they just use the prices and the punters get properly stitched up!)

The SPs should be regulated to not exceed a certain percentage. Where the overround exceeds this set percentage, the starting prices should be factored back to this maximum set percentage.

If you backed the dog with on course bookie u knew the return to expect when you put it on  if u put it on in on course betting shop then more fool you! The said dog was freely available at 9/2 and 4/1 before the plunge began!

Houdini, I can't believe that, 9/2 !!!!! I thought it was a strong market (supposed to be anyway) with one man having three of the four pitches.

I had my bet at the home of betting, would they pay me 9/2?

I think I won't be having a bet there again.

Frankie you are right mate.
If you don't like the prices don't trade there again.
My missus said the same thing when we were Christmas shopping.

very disappointing fatty though i think the coronation cup has thrown the rommers cards outa sync for a few weeks thats all? hope so anyway.

Hove does seem to have suffered as a direct result of towcester which is a shame as for all intents and purposes they may as well run these towcester opens on the moon for betting purposes.

jam is spread v thinly now
if the opens at towcester are not on TV they might as well not even run them
they urgently need to switch the thursdays to sundays

if the other thread is true and £28k was taken out of the ring then I would sys the Towcester bookies are anything but disappointing.....I wanted 1500 to 240 at Crayford the other week, split the bet into three 500/80 calls and was halved twice......its like an Egyptian market without betfair....every bet a barter.....

Wonders

You're either Jonathan Kay in disguise or clairvoyant.

Having seen your punting success, my money's on the latter. Cool
