We cant bet there, theres no run up,the camera angles are sheit, theres no banking,8 dog racing is shiet, its going on the rails, its a cr4p track....blah blah blah fkin nonsense.

We watched 12 races saturday night,2 8 dog races and witnessed very little trouble throughout the night,i think theres a few on here who couldnt give two fks about the dogs themselves and are only worried about how their score fares at 3/1...its a new track that you have to adapt to,if you wont/cant adapt then dont fkin whinge about it,quite simply you're not good enough, carry on betting skittles if thats how you roll,we all gotta eat but dont be throwing stones at the place cos you dont like it,i cant stand sunderland or crayford, you know what,i dont bet there but i wouldnt dream of whinging about the gaffs.

As a well known former poster on here says, thedogsarethestars and for me at this time where welfare has at last been correctly identified as the primary consideration in the sport this is the type of track that HAS to be built, you couldnt build a crayford or sunderland from scratch these days and design them to look like they do,it should frankly be against the law to do so!

Its funny how they have also stretchered all the "top judges" out of hove over the years n all, another absolutely fantastic track where races are run cleanly, maybe these "top judges" arent so good at betting greyhound racing, maybe they're "top judges" at betting skittles, which i agree is a hugely profitablle skill in itself but its not about greyhound racing then, its about the money.

I haven't been so excited about a track in years. I agree with Patrick Star. The buzz and atmosphere was simply fantastic. They have a done a brilliant job and of course they will address the glitches- they are professional with a great attitude and work ethic to make the whole thing work. They have the backing of the GBGB, BAGS, tote, RPGTV so I am 100% behind the new venture. It was great to see so many doggy people at the track. Met the onwer of the year elect for the first time as well - i he never "spooned his eyes out"!!! Great Craic Neil Grin

Blimey Dr - You haven't stopped banging on about 150% books.
I am not condoning it, but if u or i were a bookmaker with only trial form to go on at a brand new track, would you open up to 120% and say come on then, fill me in. Of course not. Like PS says, give em a chance, let the form settle and then criticize poor percentages in 4 weeks time, if they are still the same (unlikely)
Even your beloved Romford books open up 135 generally because ur point about the layers being lazy is about the one good point u r correct about.
In this instance, i feel Towcester will get better and better.
And for the record, if the bookmakers chalk up to 150%, but make the dog u want to bet at 7/4, a 5/2 chance, there WILL be value.
As i understand it, they shortened the dogs they were laying on Saturday night, but weren't too keen to knock the rags out and that's why the percentages were poor.
Of Course the percentages are important to punters who take their betting seriously, but as i see it the MOST important thing is being able to understand how any given race is going to pan out after watching your vids and then assessing what price the dog u fancy should represent!!!!
In this instance, apart from one of the reps being at trials the Towcester Bookmakers didn't have too much course and distance form to go on.

Completely agree with doc re the percentages.

Luckily for the serious punters this was negated saturday by a good effort by the off course books in doing the earlies so that has softened the blow for this week and perhaps let them escape from even more scathing comment?!

chris page has said hes aware of the shocking performance by the track books and will take steps to address it,he really cant do any more and so for me this saturdays performance by them shouldnt be allowed to detract from the huge achievements taken place to make towcester happen.

I think greyhound people sometimes thrive on negativity!
